Unfortunately, the release of the new Grind masterpiece by the Finnish outfit is overshadowed somewhat by the fact that it is the last record produced by the late Mieszko Talarczyk. This sad footnote aside, it certainly does the business, the 18 songs here blasting by in under half an hour. As with most Grindcore, the blastbeats are plentiful, the vocals virtually unintelligible and the guitars thrashed to within an inch of their lives, all just the way they should be! In fact, it all sounds very similar to Talarczyk's own former band Nasum, but since Nasum were basically the finest Grind band in the history of the genre (yes, even better than Napalm Death!) then that's all right. If you are into the ultra-extreme end of the Metal spectrum, you should certainly check out Rotten Sound as you'll be sure to like them. If you aren't already converted though, it's unlikely that this will bring you around to the cause, excellent album though it is.
