5.0 out of 5 stars Twilight Zone Lite
Firstly, as the other reviewer here mentions, the picture quality isn't the best but, of the episodes I've seen, none are really that bad at all.
The show itself has a feel of The Twilight Zone but deals more with the supernatural than science fiction. What impresses most is the atmosphere that the show manages to create and the fact that they manage to tell some...

3.0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag
The Ray Bradbury Theatre is a very reasonably priced 65 episodes of dramatised short stories. Some are very enjoyable e.g. The Day it Rained Forever, The Screaming Woman, The Sound of Thunder. While some are disappointing given that they are from The Martian Chronicles and we have watched the movie and enjoyed it better or that The Veldt is better done in The Illustrated...

5.0 out of 5 stars Twilight Zone Lite, 2 Oct. 2008
Firstly, as the other reviewer here mentions, the picture quality isn't the best but, of the episodes I've seen, none are really that bad at all.
The show itself has a feel of The Twilight Zone but deals more with the supernatural than science fiction. What impresses most is the atmosphere that the show manages to create and the fact that they manage to tell some great stories in only 20 odd mins.
Not every episode is great but there are enough good ones on only the first disc to make this superb value for money, and it all comes in a really neat metal tin! On the subject of the packaging, they've taken the standard release box set and enclosed it in a tin box, unfortunately there isn't enough room to take the inner box out of the tin without risk of damage to the card box. Not very clever! Best thing to do is remove the outer card box leaving just the inner disc sleeve and then it fits neatly in the tin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good series - cheap dvds, 28 Sept. 2008
This is a great series and you are really getting a lot (65 episodes) for you money. The bad news is that they've done this by fitting 13 episodes on each disc and the picture suffers as a result. That said they are watchable and until a better presentation comes along this isn't going to break the bank.

The Ray Bradbury Theatre is a very reasonably priced 65 episodes of dramatised short stories. Some are very enjoyable e.g. The Day it Rained Forever, The Screaming Woman, The Sound of Thunder. While some are disappointing given that they are from The Martian Chronicles and we have watched the movie and enjoyed it better or that The Veldt is better done in The Illustrated Man. Some of those stories also out of sequence and context and threfore a little weird to those who have nto previously read them. The opening seqeunce gets very annoying and the fast forward button becomes a friend as you make your way through the collection. Opening credits apart an enjoyable experience for the most part.

I read some negative reviews about the transfer quality of this set, but decided that it was too good to miss, having seen these programs when they first came out. It's a real bargain for a start, and the quality of the picture is more than acceptable. Each story is a real eye opener for those who love tales of mystery and imagination. I'm loving it!

I love the Great man but I have to say that other than the Shatner Episode I found these Tales almost unwatchable,The Scariest Twist in the Tale of it all is that Bradbury was responsible not just for the Stories used, but also wrote the Teleplays. Now that's Terrifying.
