5.0 out of 5 stars Velvet Underground 1993
Apart from Lou Reed singing well within himself, this is a must for all Velvet Underground fans.

Classic songs, excellent musicianship and a fantastic chance to see the unique Moe Tucker at her best.

Don't let "Lack Lustre Lou" put you off. This DVD will help anyone understand why so many bands have been influenced by the Velvets.

3.0 out of 5 stars absolute classic version of Mr Rain. 4 stars for that alone
Not the perfect tracklisting, and some ruinous non-singing of songs that Lou Reed used to be able to sing but apparently can't or forgot how to. However this is the only live release by the band in their brief reformation in the 90's and they recapture the magic during a phenomenal 'Mr Rain,' a song which becomes an extended jam between Reed and the supreme Cale that...

Not the perfect tracklisting, and some ruinous non-singing of songs that Lou Reed used to be able to sing but apparently can't or forgot how to. However this is the only live release by the band in their brief reformation in the 90's and they recapture the magic during a phenomenal 'Mr Rain,' a song which becomes an extended jam between Reed and the supreme Cale that transcends the original recording. No Sister Ray on the dvd and venus in furs ruined by Lou's non-singing,but White Light and Heroin are the other highlights.Cale sings Waiting for my man, for some reason, but he can at least carry a tune.
I think it's worth buying just to see them working the riffs together, but dont expect the same melodies to shine as they did on the original recordings, which are absolute classics, expecially the 1st album.

Almost spoilt by some half-hearted vocals from Lou but some good performances from the rest of the band.
