5.0 out of 5 stars The Evolution of Gerald
This music is a cocktail of sophisticated dance productions that borrow from many different styles. It is full of nice ambient sound scapes that are very relaxing to listen to; it doesn't really present any memorable tunes. The general vibe can be described as quiet minimal and so if you enjoy you music floating around in the background rather than slamming you against...

2.0 out of 5 stars uninspired
This is really quite a dull album. It's very tastefully produced but there's nothing remotely interesting or innovative about it. It sounds like a collection of well-polished sketches which is characteristic of a lot of amateur electronic music which you can hear on the net these days, though there are many more talented bedroom artists who will never get to release an...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent seller and 1st class customer service, 17 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
At first I thought I had been ripped off due to not receiving the albumn with in the original date but since found out this was out of his control. But fair play to him I got an email and an extra 12" single so it's a thumbs up from and I will probably use again.

5.0 out of 5 stars a masterpiece, 2 Dec 2005
This review is from: To All Things What They Need (Audio CD)
An excellent album, not what I expected tho. I thought this album was going to be more like Jungle/Drum & Bass (bit like The Essence)I was wrong its a big improvement to his previous release, and the music is more experimental going from acid house to techno and some tunes has elements of jungle in as well.
If you want several different styles of dance music combined together and feel like listening to a moody spaced out sound. Buy this, you'll enjoy it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Stimulating album, 12 Feb 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: To All Things What They Need (Audio CD)
Oh, but it just is not 'voodoo ray', we want another 'voodoo ray' (note the irony). How many times do critics come off with the same dull rubbish. Please move on and respect a guy called gerald beyond this track. This is a great and varied record and one that sadly fell on its ass with the critics who wanted, surprise another voodoo ray. BUY THIS NOW. IT ROCKS

This is really quite a dull album. It's very tastefully produced but there's nothing remotely interesting or innovative about it. It sounds like a collection of well-polished sketches which is characteristic of a lot of amateur electronic music which you can hear on the net these days, though there are many more talented bedroom artists who will never get to release an album on such a label. It would make adequate incidental music in a film or TV drama but as an album to be taken seriously there's just not nearly enough substance.

2.0 out of 5 stars The man is a legand...the album on the other hand...., 3 Nov 2005

Don't get me wrong... A Guy Called Gerald is an absolute legand in Dance music. He has laid many influencial foundations for todays producers. However, I don't feel this album does him any justice. I feel it's a little weak and lacks something. His previous album "Essence" had it.
My fave tracks on this album are: 'Meaning' and 'Call For Prayer'. The rest sadly let me down.
