1.0 out of 5 stars Fun to start with...but then..., 19 Sep 2005

I, like most people who are enthusiastic about the current poker revolution, bought this game with anticipation, but was a little curious about a brand new game costing less than £10 - my suspicions were confirmed. This is a slow, chunky graphics, poor gameplay sort of game. You can only raise by pressing a button for every chip, you have to wait a few seconds for each player to announce their intentions, and on my game the sound kept cutting out for no reason!!! Sadly, there was no tension built up as the game developed. It is fun initially, but you soon tire of the quirkiness of it all. There are other poker games on the way, namely World Championship Poker and World Poker Tour - if you are thinking of buying a poker game, wait for either of these two as they are bound to be better than this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, 24 Jun 2005
This review is from: Poker Masters (PS2) (Video Game)
I like some people was anticipating a good poker game for use on the ps2 for fun. I myself do play online poker and was expecting something similar at the very least. However I played this title for approximately half an hour before getting very bored! The game play and rounds are absolutely and unbelievably slow. To raise bets takes ages as you can only raise by one credit at a time so you have to sit there continually pressing the button! My advice is to best steer clear of this game and save your money for anything else.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible...Don't bother wasting less than a £10er, 6 Jun 2005

Words cannot describe how bad this game is. This one has been rushed out to try and capture the current PC online addiction to poker. Please, please don't be fooled by it's bargain price. Rest assured, this game has zero game-play and doesn't warrant even the sub £10 price tag. BE WARNED!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful !, 27 Aug 2006

= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Poker Masters (PS2) (Video Game)
Like other reviewers here I rushed out to buy this game, and was looking forward to an enjoyable game of poker. Sadly, also like other reviewers I was left dissapointed.

This game is rushed, simple as that. Graphics and sound would not look out of place on the the NES system. The sound does stop after about ten minutes play (if you can stay on this for that long). The gameplay is a disgrace, the players A.I is non-existent. The only positive aspect of this game is that it does incorporate some variations of poker other than hold'em. But this is outweighed by the fact that this is a hopeless shambles of a game.

Ultimately you would be better playing poker online, but fortunately the ps2 has other games (World Poker Tour, World Series of Poker) that are streets ahead of this tripe. Look elsewhere.
