It's not often you manage to find some software that does exactly what it says it does, over the years I have found most software I have purchased has greatly over rated itself. But if anything, this program under rates itself and it's incredibly good value for money.

I am in many respects a relative novice computer user but as this years chair for my local round table it was left to me to sort out our new web site. This was a new web site and we wanted to allow people to buy tickets from us using Paypal. We also needed a search so people could find information in our pages and we needed the ability to email our members list so we could update them with up coming events. We also wanted our board members to be able to add or update the web site without any special software, so they could just log in and either add a new page or change out of date information.

As a charity we need to spend money wisely and the quotes we received for doing this work were ridiculous and so whilst searching the web I came across this product. After purchasing it I spent the first weekend with the 120 page manual trying to figure it out and then I found the training videos which luckily covered a lot of what we wanted to do. Within a few hours I had it the main part of our site created. By the end of the next day our new site was all but completed. easyGen did exactly what it was meant to do, it built our web pages and database and we have a wonderful new web site.

I would advise inexperienced users like myself to watch the training videos, they are superb and really do get you off the ground very quickly. My initial problem with easygen was, I think I was expecting it to be much more difficult to use than it actually was. Once I realised how truly simple it was to use, all became clear.

I would like to finish by saying I am a 58 year old who only started to use the computer 5 years ago and I believe if I can do something on the web it must be easy. I would never have believed I could have created a data web site. What a wonderful product this is.

I'm an experienced web developer who has been creating sites professionally for over 3 years now. I read a review of easyGen in a magazine and thought it sounded interesting as a potentially time saving device.

Over the past couple of weeks I have attempted various projects with easyGen and it handled them all well.

The code it exports is simple, clean, well commented and easy for me to amend or add to.

As an experienced developer this software is defiantly going to save me hours maybe even days worth of coding, connecting databases, writing SQL queries and even building databases, and anything that does that is defiantly worthy of note.

easyGen is a lovely and very useful program, and the Shopping Suite generates a very good shopping system practically out of the box (or from the download as the case may be). As an experience programmer this software is a great time saver!

If you've never programmed before, this software will do pretty much everything you could want without you needing to learn ASP or PHP. Using the built in wizards and action you create your web page in a WYSIWYG page designer and when you export it builds your database (all of the popular ones - SQL Server, MySQL, Access, OLE and ODBC) and creates your programmed web pages in either ASP or PHP all ready for you to put on your website. It's very well documented and surprising easy to pick up.

Well worth buying.

I've never posted an online review before but feel compelled to warn people away from this product. With a good computer degree and 15 years of professional software development behind me I was looking forward to a labour saving development kit. This software is not intuitive, it's hard to use and clunky. The inbuilt help is substandard; the best training was some video which I got by separate Google (couldn't link to this from within the software help). I've since switched to a far superior (and free) competitor. I didn't mind the £money for easyGen - it's not too expensive, but I'll never forgive it for the lost hours and days of productivity as I tried to get it to work. It set one of my projects back significantly. The day I uninstalled it was a happy day.

I have now been using easygen for 8 weeks. I started as a complete novice. I had been looking for a program like this for a long time, and did indeed try others that claimed to be as good as easygen and offer similar abilities.

There seems to be some opinions about easygen that differ from the vast majority, it's almost like chalk and cheese and one wonders if they are talking about the same software.

Before I bought easygen I read the independent magazine reviews, and every one of them said this program was fantastic and gave them some top award. So are we to assume these magazines are all wrong? In my experience no, they are spot on, this is an amazing program and so powerful, it really does build anything from a small add on to an existing site. To a fully blown dynamic data centre.

I have just finished building an auction site like ebay, all in easyGen, with no programming skills or database skills. And I KNOW there is not another program on the market that can do that, whatever anyone says.

The only downside to this product is the editor, for design Dreamweaver is much better, but then again Dreamweaver is for web design, easyGen is for creating dynamic web pages with a database.

As for hosting your web site, I had no problem finding a suitable web host, most now offer databases with your hosting.

My Windows version is XP Home and I didn't install Apache or MySQL on my computer and never had any problems using the program. And have built my site just fine.

To conclude, I, as the different professionals who reviewed easygen for the magazines and most other easygen users, love this program, I love it's power, that it's British and it's ease of use but most of all, I love the sense of achievement you get when you use easygen, you feel powerful. It really is the most wonderful software.

I've been designing web pages in Dreamweaver for quite some time now but always shied away from the programming side of things. Then I was asked to add a members section to one of the sites I had created, whilst searching the web for some clue of how I could do this I came across easyGen. Within a few minutes of using it I had created a registration and login page (two of the built in page wizards)! Using easyGen is basically a case of selecting the wizard (or action) you want and filling in the details it asks for, you still need to put a bit of thought into what you're doing but easyGen does all the hard work. I still use Dreamweaver to design my sites but now if anyone wants a search, a members section, a content management system or anything "dynamic" :-) I just load up easyGen.

I highly recommend this program, for the price it's a real winner and with a bit of work and imagination you can do some great stuff with it.

What an excellent software package this easygen is. It's feature rich, very versatile and so easy to use. The online demo's really make it easy to get started and it's such good value compared to other web development products on the market.

I've wanted to add database functions to my web site for such a long time and not being a programmer I have only now been able to do it. Top marks to easygen

Pure genius, excellent value for money, 1000% recommended, a true DIY web tool. Very easy to learn and use. The most productive and advanced web development software I have ever used. There really isn't anything on the market that comes close to doing what easygen will do. It's way ahead of everything else I've tried and also cheaper.

Whether your a programmer or not makes no difference, if you want to make a data aware website or just the odd web page, use this, it's pure magic, you don't have to write a single line of code :-))

I have to agree with the other users comments. easyGen 2 is a very useful and easy to use web development tool. I have no programming or database skills and until I used easyGen I had only ever used FrontPage. But I wanted to make my web site connect to a database. And without any skills in web development or programming I re-vamped my HTML site in to a PHP site with a MySQL database.

What's also great, when I get a new idea or find a limitation on my website, I just open up easyGen and add the new bits, it really is that simple to use once you've got use to it. Which took me about a day and a half. I've now added a full e-commerce bit so I can sell things using paypal, got a customer tracking section and customer feedback, as well as account history. A discussion forum and voting section for how they rate my service. Everything you would expect on a professional online website.

A friend of mine asked me to create him a ASP + Access version of my web site. So I just changed the settings and re-exported. I didn't need to do anything else.

To summarise, I would highly recommend this software, it's very powerful yet easy to use. It does all the hard work for you and it's very flexible. Works just as well for PHP as ASP and whatever database you want to use. The built in wizards really make it simple. Full Marks to easyGen 2

Software that does exactly what it says it does, RONSIL. This program does its self no justice and it's incredibly good value for money.

I think I was expecting it to be much more difficult to use than it actually was. Once I realised how truly simple it was to use, all became clear.

I would never have believed I could have created a data web site. What a wonderful product this is.

This is one amazing program! If you spend some time reading the manual and watching the training videos you should soon be able to create some pretty complex scripts. I think the tutorials provided by easygen/symbiant are great. Once you know how to use it, easygen is very powerful!
I am only sorry for the money I spent in the past buying various php scripts that I could now easily create myself with easygen!
