Having had this as a child, I remembered just how over sensitive our trap was. After setting this up - which took quite a while, I was quite impressed at the new traps... the loop and the flushing toilet especially and couldn't wait to play it.Boy was I disappointed! The ball hasn't enough momentum to EVER go all the way round the loop, and our cage NEVER goes down - even when we hit it, it gets stuck half way. It looks great till u play it.... needs a lot of tweaking by the makers!

Bought this game hoping my children would enjoy playing it as much as I had enjoyed playing the original and have been so completely disappointed by it.It is so badly manufactured that almost half of the 'traps' don't work due to inferior materials used to produce them. It claims to be a game targetted towards 6plus year olds but it requires such manual dexterity to construct and set the traps that i think even the finest jeweller or seamstress would struggle to get it prepared. I doubt the bosses at MB have actually bothered to watch children setting up or playing this game. Have never been able to finish a game all the way through. I urge you NOT to part with your money and waste it on such an inferior product - so sad that a concept so wonderful could be delivered so spectacularly badly.

This game is very unreliable. There's a trap which requires a ball to do a loop-the-loop, and predictably the ball loses momentum before reaching the end to trigger the trap. Many parts are made of cardboard rather than plastic, and it's hit and miss whether any of the traps actually work correctly. Don't waste your money on this game. I haven't - I'm taking mine back to the shop I bought it from.

Mousetrap - more like mousecrap. The only thing that worked properly was the toilet, and the rest would have gone down ours if it had fit. Great (old) idea, lousy (modern) execution. I would seriously think twice about buying ANY toys from this well-known brand, who should be able to do much better if they really cared to.

Same as the others on the page - the traps don't work!! We bought this for my 6 year old as the big birthday present and after 1 hour of fiddling with the cage (which gets stuck) and never seeing the loop-the-loop work, I am putting this in the closet with the other cheap plastic games. A disappointment.

I loved this game when I was a kid and was delighted my eldest daughter wanted one for her birthday. Like all MB toys I've bought in the last few years, it is made from inferior plastics and cardboard - hardly durable and very disappointing. Its not easy for some of the parts to stay in place as the cardboards tries to unfurl and pieces slide out of their slots on the board very easily. If you are looking for some short term fun buy it. If you want a game that will last, this is not the one for you.

As with all other reviews, this product is just useless. We also have not made it round the loop the loop yet, the basket consistently just falls down whenever the board is touched and it took ages to put together. Flimsy cardboard, tacky cheap bits of plastic. Loads of small bits with no where to store them. How are you suppose to pack this game away? It took nearly an hour to make and surely not every parent is going to keep doing this every time their child would want to play it?I only bought this as I remembered how much fun I had playing this as a child so was hugely disappointed :o( How come there are 3 different traps, I always remembered this game as one big trap at the end. My son just sits there putting the balls in the toilet and flushing them - with only the boot trap going off. The other traps the ball just falls of and rolls off the board. I can't believe they have changed this classic game to a pile of rubbish. Why did I sell mine at a boot sale years ago!! If anyone knows where I can buy the original please write a comment to this message as I can't find it anywhere on the internet, thanks.

Initially I was very impressed with the new version; the three different traps get set off throughout the game which makes it more interesting, and it seemed pretty sturdy and a big improvement on the old version. But one piece arrived with a broken hinge which was irritating; also like another reviewer the loop the loop section didn't work, the ball just didn't have enough momentum. Unless I'm doing something seriously wrong this is a pretty major design flaw. As there is no help or support number to call this one is going straight back to the shop; shame, if it worked properly it would be a great game.

The "new" version of this classic game is awful. Spent absolutely ages trying to put it together with the traps not seeming to work properly. Thought "it must be me" as in 2012 you do not expect design this poor, and I worked on the assumption that it is a kid's game so not too difficult to set up. I assume they think that your kids can put it together (they can't. The boot trap only works if you don't attach the frying pan. The cage trap is fiddly and temperamental. Finally went online to see if there was any explanation for what the "toy box" trap is supposed to do, and came across these product reviews. Very cheesed off, but slighly relieved that I haven't put it together incorrectly. It's just very badly designed. Should be called mouse *rap. And yes, the cheesed off pun was deliberate.

My son asked for this game for Christmas but after a very fiddly hour of setting it up the disappointment of unworkable traps is exasperating. As with other reviews, the loop the loop trap does not work, did MB ever test this out? The mouse net works when you hold the trap together so that the ball bearing actually follows the path its supposed to. The game idea is simple to follow and the kids do get involved but the build quality really does throw all of those good ideas into the bin. Don't waste your money. I'm going to try to contact MB games on these issues to see if they actually look for feedback on their products!!
