5.0 out of 5 stars Another Triumph from the Black Metal Legends, 18 Sep 2004
This review is from: Sardonic Wrath (Audio CD)
This album has a great combination of the old albums with the new with such a raw heavy sound that'll keep every black metal fan sustained with pleasure. The vocals are as always extremly powerful like that of "Under A Funeral Moon". Some of the songs are more melodic in its structure yet there always seems to always have a dark feel to every riff, "Strightening Sharks In Heaven" has a powerful riff behind it that doubles up as a well made melody and flows throughout the song. I think every Darkthrone fan will greatly appreicate "Rawness Obsolete" as its true power erupts right form the start and continues to be such a cold and grim track. Once again Darkthrone have succeeded in proving why they are such a legendary band. Great Album. Buy It.

this album shows to be going back to the good old days of darkthrone, just like blaze in a northern sky with a mixture of some satyricon aswell, it also reminds me of transilvanian hunger, (probably my favourite album of all time) some of the best tracks include "hate is the law" and "Sjakk Matt Jesu Krist" overall it is a great album, and shows that they are the best bands in the black metal scene.

NO DRUM TRIGGERS, ORGANIC GUITARS RAW AND PRIMATIVE BLACK METAL FROM THE HEART! My faves along with Burzum from Norway, Darkthrone never fail to deliver!
