While I agree with the sentiment of many of the negative reviews, the paint is gel like and not like regular paint I disagree that this is such a bad thing.

It is designed for very young children, from 24 months, all the other paints are from ages 3 and up and with good reason.

Yes this paint is not going to paint a particularly good picture but for my 2 year old whose main aim is to spread as much of it over the page, the table, his hands hair and face as possible it is perfect. It's non toxic, washes straight off his clothes and anything else it touches including my Laura Ashley cushions!

I think if you are purchasing for a very young child who doesn't care much for what his "artwork" looks like it is a great product for his first adventure into the world of painting!

TOP 500 REVIEWERon 20 November 2012
Three good size bottles of paint, red, blue and yellow come with flip top caps for easy dispensing. While some have commented negatively that the paints are very gel like, not very intense and rather transparent, I do not consider this a negative point, quite the contrary, the relative transparency produces great variety as the intensity of colour results from the thickness of paint applied, and as one colour is overlaid (a smart word for the thumping down or smearing of the paint) over another. This way a great range of colours can result from the use of the three primary colours.

They do live up to the claim of being easy to wash out of clothing, and simply wiped off little hands.

However the enjoyment of these paints I am sure will vary from child to child; while most children perhaps enjoy creating a mess (and as I know from many years of teaching art), there are a few however who are less happy - our 13 month old grandson seemed more concerned about the paint all over his hands than anything he was producing in the way of art, it will be interesting to see how he progresses with these paints.

When i first opened this paint i thought it was rubbish cos i was trying to use it for a foot print of my baby and it didn't really come out that well on the sugar paper i was using. Introduce my eager 3yr old into the equation, some A3 white paper and a pair of hands which go everywhere and it's really great stuff! I bought a pack from a local shop and can no longer buy this locally so have just ordered 4 packs from amazon because i envisage many hours of using this with both kids. it wiped clean off my wooden table and plastic booster seat and most of my son - it got stuck under his nails etc but came off easily when i gave him a bath at night - i didn't have to actively scrub his hands it just came off on its own in the water. So if you're after something that kids can just smear around everywhere to make pretty rainbow pictures with their hands and is easy to clean up then this is the stuff. As with previous reviews, it's more of a coloured gel than paint but it works brilliantly for general mess making that is really easy to wipe up after.

There are only 3 colours in this set - red, yellow and blue. However these are colours that can be mixed with each other to make other colours.

The paint is not like normal paint, it is more like coloured gel. This isn't a negative in my opinion as it works just like paint and looks just like paint when it's dry. I think this is better for younger children (toddlers) rather than older children as it seems easiler and less challenging to use than normal paints.

The way I use them is to squeeze a small amount of each colour onto a plate and let my daughter use a brush, sponge or her fingers to make pictures with. The only downside in doing this is it's very easy to mix all the colours together.

The paints can be used for painting pictures, making handprints, footprints, finger painting and general childrens arts and crafts. They're also good to make keepsakes.

Best of all the paints are totally washable. I've got them on all types of surfaces and clothing (even whites) and they have all come out in the washing machine. They also come off easily on skin - just a rinse under the tap is needed.

The advantages of this product for me would be it does what it says on the tin, it's great for toddlers, bright colours, is washable and comes in a bottle which means I can decide how much paint I want to be squeezed out.

The only disadvantage of this product for me would be the fact there are only 3 colours and the paints take a while to dry. I think the main disadvantage to others would be that the paint is gel-like, however as I've already mentioned I don't see this as a problem.

This is a very odd product, and is not like paint at all. It's more like a translucent gel than a paint. When dried it is okay to look at, but doesn't really work very well as a paint, it is *supposed* to be a finger paint, but I would still have expected something a little more opaque than this.

Having said that, it is not a complete waste of time, because my 2 year old does enjoy squeezing out the paint as it makes a satisfying squelching noise.

I don't like this paint as it gives very little coverage, even on white paper. Had hoped to do hand prints etc but the yellow is useless and the other two colours not much better. Will go back to old fashioned watercolours I think. Would not recommend this paint to anyone.

I used these with my toddler for her first painting experience. She loved them. The paint is quite gel like, so it doesn't run everywhere. It dries quite quickly, but dries a lot lighter than it looked when it was wet. It is quite transparent, which is a bit of a shame. However, my daughter is not perturbed! It washes off easily too.

A good first paint. We did find that the paint is quite gloopy and thick but it doesn't dry to a bold colour due the water content. It looks quite pale once it has dried on the paper. The small boy still had lots of fun with it and it doesn't stain the skin like other paints, which is a bonus as he enjoyed tasting it too.

I do have a slight bias to Crayola, as their products have always left me happy with the purchases!
This finger paint is no exception. My 3 year old loves it (she started with it around 6 months ago), and this became part of a routine we do every couple of days. The quality and texture are fine (this is finger painting after all), the quantity supplied will last for a while and the fun factor is quite high. I would have preferred it if there were more colours than just the 3 supplied - but we do our share of colour mixing to come up with new ones.
The fact that the paint is so easily washable on both clothes and hands (and legs and face etc...) is the ultimate selling point - even it becomes messy beyond the allocated space, it is really easy to clean-up afterwards.

I have been buying more of the same whenever i ran out - so I am a happy customer
