These are absolutely great!!! They are lovely and chuncky for gripping. They arrive not too pointed, so they are not dangerous. The pencil itself is softer than a normal pencil, but harder than a crayon, so they are safe, but give them a different writing experience.
My daughter is nearly two and has had her crayola chunky crayons since she was 12 months, so we have just progressed onto these. I would say this is about the right age as they are less chunky than the crayons, so a bit harder to grip and I think I would have been more nervous of her poking it in her eye at a younger age. She loves these as she loves drawing and she finds these easy to hold and loves the diffent animals on each one.
Every morning when we come downstairs I get asked for the pencils and she tells me their colour and the animal and even makes the animal noises...so they are much more fun than a normal pencil and so much safer.
I have just ordered a pack for Nannie's and a spare for ours she loves them so much.
Very highly recommended!

Lovely pencils, very solid and the colours are bold. My 2 year old loves them, they are her favourite drawing tools! It would be good if Crayola made a pencil sharpener for them as they are thicker than a standard pencil, so far we have used a sharp knife which is not very convenient.

Got these chunky pencils for my daughter who loves crayons and I wanted her to experience pencils but most of them are a bit thin so these were perfect. The different animals illustrated on each coloured pencil are an added bonus because we learn both colours and animals. I'd buy the same ones as gift for another child.

I have an 18 month girl who loves drawing with aquadraw so I thought the next stage should be colouring pencils (also nice to be able to stick the pictures on the wall instead of her drawing on the walls!)

The pencils are great, chunky enough for her to grip, they have pictures of different animals on the pencils so we use them too as a learning tool.

Really would recommend them especially at the price they are.

These colouring pencils are brilliant. At the moment my 14 month old son seems more interested in either eating them, hiding them in obscure places, or collecting them in a tin only to shake it so violently that they spill out all over the place.

However he has done some doodling with them - lovely colours, nice and chunky so he can hold them easily, easy on the digestion system and the little creature designs on the pencils add to the charm.

Overall really good for blossoming artists and as my son proves there's more to colouring pencils than meets the eye.

Bought this for my 12 month old after trying out others. Am really pleased with the product as these are virtually indestructable & really cheap. The other crayons kept breaking and worryingly could have been a choking hazerd. These crayons are big so easy for tiny fingers to hold and to date he has not managed to snap any yet. Handy to keep in your pocket or purse & easy substitute when he tries to take my pen!
Always take one out to the shops now!
Overall a great product

I bought these pencils for my little boy. He loves the little drawings on the pencils and that they are a nice and big for little hands to hold.

These pencils are very well decorated and make a good alternative to crayons/chalk for children who like to eat everything!!

I've purchased these before, they last a very long time. I've still got some I bought 4 yrs ago, they may be only pencil stumps now but hey. Great value for money, these retail in shops at around £5 per set! Recommended purchase for young and older kids.

Fantastic colouring pencils. My 2 year old daughter loves them. Great size, nice and chunky, and the animal pictures help to keep interest. Have already bought a couple more packs as presents. Great value too.
