I have used Martin strings for a long time (25 years +) and recently thought that I might be missing something by being so single minded. So I bought other manufacturers' strings. I am now back with the Martin strings having wasted time and money, experimenting with others. Martin strings settle down quite quickly. This makes them essential for someone doing live performances. Once tuned they hold their pitch indefinetly. I have found that if you keep the strings in good tune, that they are still clean and bright for well over a year.

amazing for new players, bar chords and things are easier due to the softness of the string.
also easier to bend and tap, providing an easier route to alternative techniques.
I've been using these for a long time now.

they are on the quiet side, and degrade in sound quality faster than alternatives, i recommend buying more than one pack at a time, which is fine because they are so damn cheap :D

perfect practice strings.

remember never to tune up past the recommended note, tune down then use a capo to achieve different tunings.

Great strings. I was using strings from other vendors previously, but I will definitely stick with Martin from now on. The strings sat very fast (1-2 days) and stay in tune afterwards. The strings have a solid, rich sound and an electric guitar feel (amazingly it's so easy to bend these strings). Simply the best value for money.

i recently restrung my guitar with these and the sounds is gorgeous, really bright and vibrant, and to be honest I can't tell much difference between these and my previous set of medium gauge. They are far easier on the fingers, so probably best suited for beginners, but extremely pleased all round!

I am not an expert, but these strings seem like great value to me.

I have these strings on my Yamaha electro acoustic. I took a chance going for the value 3 pack, but glad that I did now.

My previous strings (inc. Martin normal and light) have felt like very hard and sharp on my fingers making playing painful rather than the joy that it should be.

These extra light strings have put an end to that and their sound is very bright too!

The only thing I would warn people against is that the bottom 3 strings are so light that they may give you hassle when securing in place on the machinehead when stringing (I cut the excess on my bottom E as short as I normally would but it kept slipping through when doing final tuning!); and that the extra lights aren't great for strong strumming (be sure to check your tuning thereafter and/or carry spares in case of snaps).

With those fairly obvious cautions in mind, these are otherwise great strings!

Excellent value for money an just about the best guitar strings available. The price was unbeatable and the service excellent. I could not ask for more and will certainly order from this source again.

These strings are excellent. They have an incredibly bright sound and made my guitar sound 20 times better. They came quickly and were very easy to tune once on my guitar.

These strings are brilliant,they stay in tune,great for bending and really good for finger picking.I will stay with Martin,I cannot see a better make .

These are the only strings that I will use on my acoustic. They provide a beautiful and metallic tone and are also very easy to bend due to their thickness. Recommended for the acoustic guitar buff who loves to hack out solos. Great product.

I don't think you can go wrong with Martin strings. I have been a guitarist for many years and tried different types of strings and Martin's are impressive. It doesn't take long before they settle down and stop going out of tune. Also, even though the ones I use are extra light they appear tough and do not break that easily. Well worth the price. Not a huge saving getting them via Amazon, but a reasonable saving anyway. It saves a trip to the music shop also!
