A must have album
on 24 June 2004
As a fan of Matt Goss from his Bros days I had been eagerly anticipating the release of Early Side of Later. His 1995 album, The Key, although enjoyable was somewhat middle of the road so I expected more of the same and just looked forward to a couple of decent tracks - how wrong I was!
What I did get was a album that will remain high on my list of all time favourites, full of great tracks and amazing vocals. I defy anyone with a love for soul/pop to not like this album. From the first single Fly to the last track Goodbye, Matt treats us to a varying style of music.
The opening guitar strums of Watch Me Fall remind me greatly of George Michael's Waiting for That Day but then Matt changes key into a great commercial sounding catchy pop record with an edge.
Just for a Change will surprise every fan as Matt sings with an accent in a tone we've never heard before.
If you enjoy music which makes you feel good, vocals which leave you stunned then buy this album, I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed.
