How to keep your puppy entertained for 3 minutes or less
on 6 July 2015
After buying a training book which galvanized readers to buy 3- no less!- Kong Toys and seeing that my poor puppy is indeed at the peak of her teething stage, I decided to purchase this supposed miracle of a toy, saviour of all furniture, clothes and shoes expecting great results. So far I have stuffed the kong toy with apples (which my puppy loves), kong treats (which she tolerates) and an array of other things... Turns out the kong toy (which she could not care less about) was not quite what one would call a great success. My puppy sniffs the kong for 1 minute and in less than 2 minutes has all treats out and is triumphantly walking away from the toy. She can chew on a piece of carrot for 30 minutes, but on this toy? Not more than 3 minutes. I even tried playing with it myself to see if I could arouse her interest. All I succeeded in doing was making a spectacle of myself. Youtube material, I tell you. Every puppy is different. I am certain that many puppies may indeed find this toy a world of fun which keeps them occupied for ages. Mine was simply not one of them and yours might not be too.
