5.0 out of 5 stars Essential baby product
This is one baby item that is an essential not a luxury. Although it takes up a lot of space, there is so much offered by this one item that it is invaluable!

It provides a lovely soft and comfortable place to leave a baby that isn't able to sit up unsupported. It also has a number of toys and distractions built into the nest to keep your little one...

3.0 out of 5 stars Better for younger babies
I bought this when my son was 5 months old as he wanted to sit but kept flopping over. It was fab when we first put him in it and really helped with his sitting. However, 1 month on and we've had to put it away because he has learnt how to dive out of it! I think for a younger baby who can't move about yet it is a lovely, safe toy for them to sit in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for baby and great for parents who need little breaks!, 3 Nov 2008
By
This review is from: Galt Farm Playnest (Toy)
My baby, nearly 7 months, loves it!
He loves sitting but can't quite stay sat on his own, and this really gives him the freedom of sitting and play without us, parents, fearing he is going to fall backwards and hit his head. He loves all the touchy feely things around.
I got it second hand and the only little annoying thing about it is that I had to tape the valve on the rubber ring as it would not stay shut once blown, but this could be due to his heavy use!
I don't have the gym above but I sometimes put my own activity arch which my baby loves as he can play with the dangling thing being sat rather than lying down underneath!(change of angle!!)
He loves it so much, he gives me a 20 min break by just playing in it on his own! so... priceless really!!

I bought the play nest for my baby when he was just 2months old, 3 1/2 months on he's able to sit up unaided and is showing a real interest in the activities. It's a safe place for him to sit while I busy around him. Couldn't do without it now and he loves it. I would say this is more useful than a bouncy chair and will definitely be of use for longer.

Brought this for my son when he was a baby. He is now 6 and I have given the playnest away but it is a very good baby aid. He was able to sit and play with ease. He would not slump doen and loved looking at the different activites. He would even fall asleep in it. Once he got older he would crawl in and out the ring and play with the different activities.

I bought this playnest for my 7 month old twins and they learned to sit up properly in it. They keep themselves entertained in it for quite some time! The colours, pictures & playbits keep them amused also. It's also great for travel as it can be packed quite easily.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best for older babies, 17 Jan 2010

I bought this for my baby when he was about 3 or 4 months old and he never really looked comfortable in it for the first few months and I thought that it had been a poor buy. However once he got to the stage of being able to climb in and out of it he suddenly started enjoying it and it's been a great success.
Negative things would be the cost of it for what it is also could be doing with more padding in the middle of the ring.

I bought this during the baby sale after seeing similar items in the high street and well known stores. When I realised that this was inflatable, it also struck me that this could easily be stored away/ retired without taking too much space.

My daughter was on the verge of sitting upright with assistance at 4 months immediately took to it. She was happy to "chillax" with her sprawled in a semi-recumbent position as well as sit upright securely. There was immediate confidence with her looking around as she was surrounded by the inner circumference of the tube.

Indeed she started squealing with delight as she looked round the colourful fabric and the play options which included flap and squeaker. There was also individual fuzzy and shiny patches that were integrated as parts of animals. Its slightly simplistic (no reflective bits for instance) but that's part of its charm.

Now for the cons: you will definitely need something to inflate this, the volume required took my car battery-driven tyre inflater 5 minutes plus to get the right turgor. The nest itself is fairly large, similar to the sizes for adults in waterparks. And a handy tip: don't inflate to full size before slipping the cover on: its impossible! Due to the time to inflate, it doesn't get deflated in between playtimes and just sits in its full glory in the corner.

That being said, my little girl sits proudly on her own at 5 mths and goes in it as part of and unsupervised play time. She learnt to manipulate the movable potions early and we pop in soft toys and teethers in the nest portion and she happily drops and picks them up as they are in her immediate field of vision.

Well done to the folks at GALT.

5.0 out of 5 stars My son is happy in it., 18 Nov 2010
This review is from: Galt Farm Playnest (Toy)
I bought this playnest when my son was 3 1/2 months old and am using it semi-inflated as recommended until he can sit up. He is very comfortable in it and finds the bright colours stimulating. I purchased it as an alternative to his bouncer chair and play gym as one side of his head had gone a bit flat from lying down and the playnest still offers him enough support without putting pressure on the back and sides of his head.

My son was determined to sit up from 3 months old so we were always sitting with him and giving him support but this product meant that we could prop him up in a nice safe environment and do other things. Now, at 4 months, he loves sitting in it and playing with his toys. When I held the baby group a couple of weeks ago, all of the babies, 3-5 months, loved it and everyone left determined to buy one. My friends 2 year old daughter came round today and she got in immediately and started playing with the bits on top and then sat quietly watching tv. Great buy.
