A pretty solid effort from Chris Robinson, having lived with it for a week now i think it warrents a review.
It all starts well enough with 40 days an uptempo rocker that is probably worth the price on its own, the album then sips down a gear with Girl on A Mountain and stays with slower paced more acoustic tunes through till the last two tracks.
If You See California is definately a high point and is one of the best songs Chris has written.
The metallic dirge of Sea of love is really poor and is almost cringeworthy.
However, the album finishes strongly with Piece Of Wind.
Not up to the early Crowes Standard, probably on a par with anything post three snakes, but worth a listen.
