I've been using this DVD for appx. 4 months and it's fantastic ! During this time I have noticed a significant increase in my fitness and improved flexibility and muscle tone.
The presenter talks through each pose slowly and clearly and gives you time to make any adjustments to suit your own capability. She makes you very aware of how you use your breath during each pose - making it a very calming and rewarding experience as well as challenging your stiff limbs !
I would say this DVD was suitable for any size, shape and general fitness level. If you do it just twice a week, I'm sure you will reap the benefits as I have done and look forward to each session. The whole DVD is just under an hour from start to finish, with the last 10 minutes being focused on breathing and relaxing. You will come away from it feeling much calmer and more focused. Recommended !!

This is a great start for any beginners who can set aside an hour or two a week. All the moves are explained well even if you are a novice within a couple of attempts you feel like you have been doing it for years! It feels like you have done a good workout after without feeling hot and sticky like you've just stepped out of the gym. It's helpful as there are 2 other 'classmates' so you can see how the different moves can be done at different levels. It's definately made me want to continue and become even more flexible!

I certainly recommend this dvd as a start to yoga. It is quite easy but unless you are flexibe enough a few positions will take a while before you can do them properly. I do feel I am ready to move onto to more challenging positions but will still use this dvd until I am flexible to do all the moves. This dvd has certainly given me the enthusiasm for yoga. After the 1 hr session, I felt so completely relaxed and de-stressed. It is a good job that Jo keeps reminding you to breath as sometimes I found myself holding my breath while concentrating.
Highly recommend for beginners.

Having experienced a yoga session at my local fitness and leisure club thinking 'never again' I bought this DVD and it sat on the shelf for months. After a particularly difficult period in my life I finally did it! I have spent an hour of my life everyday for the past week learning to tune into my inner self. I agree with other reviews that the stretches may seem quite basic although not a walkover if you have not exercised for a long time and are quite stiff. This is a gentle introduction, you are totally in control so you can learn at your own pace. I did not have a teacher yanking my arm 'into position' and tearing my muscles. It is more than 'do-able' and I have noticed a difference already, not just in my overall flexibility but also my piece of mind. Thanks to Joy I feel confident to now start a class again. I personally find her voice very soothing and only wish that she would hurry up and make another DVD for intermediate level!

I've tried a couple of other DVDs but they are just too advanced and that just isn't helpful for a beginner. This DVD is wonderful - you get safe but challenging stretches that give you immediate benefits as well as helping you to make progress towards the more advanced stuff. I did this yesterday morning and my body felt healthy, open and in-balance all day long and, let's face it, that's what it's all about!

I agree with a previous review - I really hope that Joy brings out an intermediate DVD.

It is one of my very favourite sport dvds. Best yoga programme for my back I ever tried. If it was a bit shorter (like half an hour) I think I would start every day with it. Highly recommended if you look for something easy, relaxing and relaxing you spine.

I decided to get fit and build things up gradually. This is an excellent beginners dvd. Very relaxing and easy to follow. The instructor is really easy to listen to and explains things well. There are two other ladies doing the exercises with her at different levels. You feel like you have worked out and feel refreshed and positive afterwards.

I have only had this dvd for 1 week - but already I am addicted and am doing it every day.
I am a physically fit person and enjoy working out at the gym but felt that my mind wasn't "fit" and I was recommended Yoga.
I am a complete beginner and assume that this is very basic but what I have found is that it works! I have already noticed massive differences mentally and physically. It's concise, easy to follow and Joy's voice is a pleasure to listen to. She concentrates on the breathing aspect throughout and the stretches are relitively easy to do and follow a methodical route.
If you fancy giving Yoga a bash I really can't recommend this highly enough.

I bought this DVD as I want to do yoga at home. I have previously been to classes and felt self concious that I could not do some of the stretches.
This DVD is brilliant, it makes me feel so relaxed & calm afterwards, I am also beginning to notice a difference in how my body feels generally - in general fitness & digestion.
The best thing about this DVD is that it is aimed for beginners and Jo keeps reminding you about breathing & posture throughout so that you are maximising the benefits from the yoga. Also I didn't feel silly if I could not quite make the stretch.
I would strongly recommend this DVD to anyone beginning to practice yoga. I have never come across such a super program.

I bought this dvd as i wanted to tone up and also improve my flexibility.
i have used it 3 times now and i already notice that i am able to hold poses more and also stretch further into a pose than i could when i first used it.
i would recomend this dvd to anyone, it relaxes you behond belief. my entire body feels a lot more awake.
the instructions are very clear and joy explains things very well and is very soothing.
A must buy for anyone wanting to improve their life.
You really do feel the benefits even after the first time you use the dvd. also it runs for 50mins an believe me it goes so quickly its over before you realise.
