This review is from: The Midnite Sound of the Milky Way (Audio CD)
Many garage freaks will know Dean Carter's wild take on Jailhouse Rock, and most of the stuff on this CD comes out of the same stable. The wildest stuff, mostly previously unreleased, comes from Kookie Cook. He channels years of rejection into Revenge, while Workin' Man, Don't Lie, and I Feel Alright are right there on the edge. It's a bit like hearing the Monks for the first time. Nothing else on the CD quite matches up to this but it's nearly all good stuff. Special mention should go to the Cobras, a bunch of 12 year olds with voices to match their age but an attitude way beyond.
