5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure For The Lovelorn, 10 Sep 2006
By
Samhein (Yorkshire, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lovelorn (Audio CD)
This album is unique, so much so, you never know what to expect from it next upon your next listen. Ranging from soft, deep poems, to heavy and dark awe inspiring anthems. It is one of those albums that you nevr grow bored of, and wonder greatly how they pull it off. It oozes creative genius and a passion for words. Qualities that are so precious in describing this album. Landmark tracks include 'Into Your Light', 'Ocean's way' and 'Temptation'. The latter two graced by Liv's husband Alexander Krull (Atrocity), whose dark vocals define the tracks, and make them all the more amazing.

4.0 out of 5 stars I wish I could rate it 5 stars, 4 Aug 2013

when I discover this band, I was sure it was a mix of : Nightwish / within Tempatation / Delain. Liv has a good voice ( is the band name maybe Liv's eyes ). and it began good untill a man began to Growl , oh ! either he learn to sing or stop growl, because It does not fit to angel voice of LIv ( angel sing duet with the Devil ? ), and the splendid music and orchestration arrengements. yes I know the growler is married to Liv, but still it does not fit. My favorite songs are :5 stars: Norwegian Lovesong + For Amelie - 4 stars : Tale Of The Sea Maid + Lovelorn. - 3 stars : Into Your Light + Retúrn To Life. - 2 stars : Secret.
and then Ocean's Way. It began good and very melodic but growling voice I feel is misplaced. I hope Alexander will learn from Marco of Nightiwsh, how he perforn on the song : Nothing Left with Delain. I am sure that Alexander can match this. Bitte.
But surely I will recommend Leaves Eys as a good and melodic band, and buy more music from them. Great Band. I wish I could raise to next level. if you like angel voice, violin harmonies wirh rock and folk element, THIS IS THE BAND . . .

Refreshing sound and more immediately accessible than most other symphonic rock bands, couple of weak tracks but overall great album

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Goth album since TOT's Aegis, 12 Aug 2004

Liv is incredible in this album, all old TOT fans should get this album asap. I'll admit, some of the songs sound a bit Poppy, but tracks 3, 5, and 8 will reassure all the old TOT fans that Liv is still very much into the goth-death metal scene. The new TOT (theatre of tragedy), is terrible and their new vocalist sux, TOT may be officially dead, but this album is kind of like TOT ressurected from the dead, just with different muscicians playing the instruments.
