3.0 out of 5 stars poor undercard for the most part and great rumble match !
I agree with my fellow reviewers who state that the undercard here wasnt the best,it wasnt the most gratifying, nor memorable with one notable exception and that being the last man standing match between shawn michaels and triple h,aside from that the event seemed rush and didnt really stamp glory all over the place.

very good match quite some high flying impacts here 9/10
wwe championship match - Brock Lesnar vs Hardcore Holly
Why is Holly in a title match, it is a good match though 7/10
Last Man Standing match for the wold heavyweight title - HBK vs HHH : very desint match here, hard hits with a chair and the anouncers table, great that it endid in a draw sort off which meant that there will be another HHH vs HBK classic ( Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood 2004) 10/10
Royal Rumble match - best ever rumble match you'll see 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Royal Rumble... It;'s True it's Damn True, 29 Dec 2006
This review is from: WWE Royal Rumble 2004 [DVD] (DVD)
Batista and Flair vs the Dudley Boyz (World Tag team championship)- Great opener and also showing the coach getting put through a table on RAW. I Thought it was over quite quickly though.

7/10

Mysterio vs jamie noble w/ Nidia (Cruiserweight championship) - Good promo for Smackdown as it had some high flying fast paced action. There was only going to be one winner however the Nidia blind gimmick was funny.

7.5/10

Eddie vs Chavo Guerrero w/Chavo senior - Right man won to end a pretty annoying storyline. RIP Eddie.

6/10

Brock Lesnar vs Hardcore Holly (WWE championship) - Holly has never been a main eventer in the WWE or WWF. It's good to see him getting some sucess in ECW. Most people would be put off by Holly's involvement with this one. You could tell Brock lesnar was on his way out after the PPV anyway. I was rooting for Holly, he made a brave attempt to pull it off.

6/10

Last man standing match Triple H vs Shawn Michaels (World heavyweight title match).A surprising ending it was very hardcore and lasted a while. I wish Michaels had beaten Triple H becuase he annoys me with is title hogging ad airtime hogging.

9/10

Royal Rumble match - This match was pulled off in dramatic style. With the return of Foley. Goldberg getting screwed. The Undertaker's warning to Kane. The dominance of the BIG Show. The rabid wolverine of course getting what he truly deseved as no-one in the WWE deserved that Title shot more than he did, he proved that he deserved it at long last. He is of my favourite wreslers along with Bret hart, Shawn michaels, The Rock, Stone cold and Mick Foley.

10/10 perfect

This review is from: WWE Royal Rumble 2004 [DVD] (DVD)
Seeing Benoit, who worked his A$$ off for 17 years, entering No.1 and going over 29 other superstars and heading straight to the main event at Wrestlemania 20 is just priceless! WWE actually showed respect and appreciation for their best wrestler at the time. Must-see and must-have DVD!!

3.0 out of 5 stars poor undercard for the most part and great rumble match !, 13 Jan 2008

I agree with my fellow reviewers who state that the undercard here wasnt the best,it wasnt the most gratifying, nor memorable with one notable exception and that being the last man standing match between shawn michaels and triple h,aside from that the event seemed rush and didnt really stamp glory all over the place.
The opening tables match looked good on paper, ric flair along with batista vs the dudley boyz, rarely have the dudleys looked so out of place in a match they were made for,not the best although its always good watching flair ham it up.
Next up was a three minute match that is perfect if you want to boil an egg,rey mysterio vs jamie noble, poor and simple match with little in the way of quality or edge of your seat drama, well none in fact.
Next up was eddie guerrero vs chavo guerrero, these men had better fights together than this, there was some good stuff going on,truly there was but it didnt captivate and thats what its all about in the end.
Next up was the wwe title match and only lasted 6 minutes so something wasnt right, hardcore holly was never a main eventer, yes he had paid his dues over the years and he had steel to match some good skills but he was never gonna carry the company on his back, the match came about after a good storyline going into it but no one believed this was gonna be harcores night and it wasnt,i shouldnt spoil a match but anyone could guess that a machine like lesnar wasnt gonna fall to a man like holly, enough said.
The last match before the royal rumble itself was glorious and epic and bloody and frantic and edgy, all of that makes sp a happy boy then. This was a very well fought match with a balanced outlook in the flow of dominance and all in all no one can be blamed for the outcome.
Onto the royal rumble then itself,a good list of names featured here and a very thrilling rumble match followed that led to a worthy winner, high in quality here yet again then.
Most of the undercard was poor enough but with a fantastic last man standing match side by side of a corking rumble match then this event gets a three star rating, make of that what you will hey.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best rumble out of all of them., 24 July 2004
By
Howard Attew (Ludham,England.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WWE Royal Rumble 2004 [DVD] (DVD)
Batista and Ric flair vs. the dudleys is poor concerning the follow up to the match but it does get good towards the end.
Rey Mysterio vs. Jamie Noble is quite unique and you do get to see alot of high flying towards the end of the match.
Eddie vs. Chavo is a excellent match and but what ruins it is that Chavo classic gets involved. If that didn't happen then the match would have top marks.
Brock vs. Hardcore for the wwe title is alright but due to their rivalry, there is room for improvement.
hbk vs. hhh for the world's title is the highlight of the night. The match goes back and forth and this match has got to be voted the best last man standing match ever.
The royal rumble match is not the best rumble but there is some great occurances in the match. The return of Cactus Jack and a very strange occurance whilst Kane is dominating the match. This is what causes Kane to not win the match.I will not tell you who won but I was shocked to find out who had won.
This Royal Rumble has got to be the third best royal rumble ever.
The second is Royal rumble 1994 and the first best is royal rumble 2000.

5.0 out of 5 stars Benoit beats everyone., 15 Dec 2004
This was the best Royal Rumble ever. The first match,Batista and Ric Flair vs The Dudley Boyz in a Tables Match for the World Tag Team Championship.Having the titles,Batista and Flair did have the advantigde,so they deserved to win.Good match.3/5.Eddie Guerruo and Chavo Guerruo had a great match. As always,Eddie Frog Splashed his way to victory.4and a half/5.Jamie Noble wanted to take the Cruserweight Championship home with him.His challenge failed as the champ,R-E-Y Mysterio hit Noble with the 619 and a springboard legdrop of the top rope and regained his championship.5/5.Brock Lesnar defeated Hardcore Holly with an f-5 to regain his WWE Championship.2/5.HHH regained his World Heavyweight Championship against HBK in a thrilling Last Man Standing match.HHH won by a double-count out.4/5.And finally, the Royal Rumble match. My favourite part was when The Undertaker's gong rang out to distract Kane.Booker T elimenated him. Spike Dudley walked down the ramp but Kane Tombstoned the hell out of Spike.Chris Benoit,no.1 entrance won the royal rumble after he elimenated the 7foot 500pound Big Show.5/5.exelent match.
