Excellent second album from 2004 by New Yorker Pideaux Xavier, whos day job is as a director of American Soaps. Prog can be a minefield, theres a lot of it about and some of it is less than inspiring, one of the reasons why i cant get bogged down with one musical genre. But this album ticks all the right boxes, good atmospheric songs with great hooks, well produced giving what i like to call an organic feel.
Although from New York his voice has a very English feel and at times is somewhere between Syd Barrett and Robyn Hitchcock. On third track A Curse Of Miracles his phrasing is pure Bill Nelson. If you are a fan of Be Bop Delux, early seventies Bowie with a hint of Syd Barrett/Robyn Hitchcock style psych thrown in you just might enjoy this.
