After I made the first cup of coffee just using the filter as it arrived, I realised that the water passes through it too fast and does not capture enough coffee flavour.
I bought some coffee filter papers (pretty cheap to buy) and lined the coffee filter with one of these. The coffee it produced was really good as the paper filter kept the boiling water in contact with the coffee for longer and therefore extracted more flavour from it.
If you just need one cup then this is economical and produces a good cup of coffee. Using the filter paper you will still have a cup of coffee within a few minutes.

Please no-one who appreciates good coffee even contemplate buying this product.

It filters too quickly, and after a while imparts a stale taste to the brew as coffee oils get trapped in the mesh.

The same applies to all 'permanent filters' since they're impossible to clean properly.

Get a ceramic cone with filter papers instead.

I wanted something that cut down on using paper cones. Ecological thinking as well as disliking the slight taste of paper one gets. This is perfect. You only get the taste of the coffee. Not only that, it pays for itself in a short time. There is a little residue at the bottom of the cup but nothing much. The filter system is excellent and the size fits a cup or mug for a single brew or a coffee jug for more. It empties easily so the grounds can be put straight in the bin or saved for compost. It is exceptionally easy to clean. It just takes a quick rinse from the outside and voila! it's ready to be used again. Worth every penny.

It's very quick and easy to use and clean and makes great coffee for one.
However I need to buy some bigger mugs as I've over filled a few times and the addition of a lid to design would help keep the coffee hotter while it filters (although a ex-takeaway lid sits safely on top).
Enjoy

First fhing people should know before using this one cup filter, is that the ground coffee needs to be medium coarseness. If it's too fine (espresso machine grind) you get too much residue getting through, and if it's too coarse then your brew will lack flavour.

As always, do not use boiling water as it ruins the flavour. Boil the water then leave it a couple of minutes.

As long as you follow those tips, this reusable one cup filter system gives you a very tasty brew! There will always be some residue at the bottom of the cup because that's the nature of quick filtering (but still better than the awful cafetieres that leave too much gunk in your drink). If you use paper filters, it would take too long and your coffee goes cold!

I liked it so much I bought two!

This is a great, inexpensive filter that sits on top of your cup or mug. We buy paper filters to go inside and these are composted after use. Quicker and easier to use than a one cup cafetiere.

This is exactly what I was looking for for my daughter when she left home so she could carry on making great tasting coffee. You hardly ever see these filters in the shops nowadays, so I really was pleased to find this one. Making coffee with a filter like this is quick, simple and grout-free, hugely better than fiddling aabout with a cafetiere and all the associated washing-up. It can be used with or without filter papers(though it would have been better cone-shaped rather than flat-bottomed for papers)and is excellent value for money.

Excellent product very ergonomic and easy to use. Makes a fantatsic cup of Coffee without the expense of a Coffee machine and also great if you're the only making it for one Person.

The 3 piece set is sleek easy to clean and is a value for money purchase. Great service also from Amazon as per usual.

I like this, it works well without a paper filter, a bit of residue settles at the bottom of the cup, but that's never bothered me.

It is a bit bigger than I hoped at 8cm tall and 12cm in diameter, I was expecting more of a tea cup size. I've learned to fill it a little and repeat 3 or 4 times, otherwise the water doesn't filter through the coffee properly but goes through the sides - I like strong coffee.

So it's a bit fussy, but using filter papers is a wasteful expense and I bought it to take camping, so as it's light and pretty robust, it does the job well.

(as other reviews mentioned, the colour was not as shown, but solid brown)
