5.0 out of 5 stars Aquabats best yet?, 8 Aug 2002
i....just...dont...know!
this is the aquabats 4th album release, and is not actually a best of, more of songs that werent finished in time and some ideas that were reworked. But don't think your getting some cheap album, this is a sparkling example of the 'bats. Compared to the other albums, this is comparable to Floating Eye Of Death, with alot of ska mucis enhanced by electronic sounds. this album boasts the most impressive catchiest chorus's to hit shelves in a long time, "Pizza Day" "Pool Party" and "Adventure Today" are all great examples. The Aquabats retain their humour, and drive their sound to a more polished finish. This is highly recommended, words have no chance of doin either the aquabats or this album justice, a great door to the world of the aquabats.
by the way, this is NOT the second installment of anythin as i read in some other review, they just put volume 2 on it for fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this now, dammit., 27 Sep 2003
This is easily the most fun I've ever seen a band have in an album, ever. The songs are all so wacky and crazy, but in a smart way, that makes you smile and even laugh at the total randomness of the tracks and the lyrics ("There's no pool in our school / there's no school in our pool"). There isn't really a single 'bad' track, just some that are superior to others. Pizza Day, Pool Party, Adventure Today and Danger Woman stand out especially.
If you have a quirky sense of humour and are in the mood for some light-hearted music, look no further than here, it instantaneously pulls you out of that unhappy mood and gets you bopping along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazingly Fantastic, 20 Sep 2001
By A Customer
ALmost as good as their debut album, The Aguabats return with avangence with their second installment of their wacky adventures. From track after track this album keeps widening your smile. The ultimate ska album without a doubt and I've heard of plenty. Myths Legends and Other Amazing Adventures Vol.2 is just as good as The Furey Of The Aquabats but If you haven't gott'en Furey yet get it first as it is a great introduction into the world of aquabania ! Quite simply a masterpiece of ska, a must get !!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Thank the Lord for the Aquabats, 16 April 2008
Thank the Lord indeed! In some parallel universe somewhere, these guys are knocking Madonna's latest off the top spot. And that's exactly where they should be, in my humble opinion. Rather bizarrely, I only discovered the existance of the Aquabats through their appearance on the kids TV show "Yo Gabba Gabba", which my daughter religiously watches. They popped up on one of the episodes singing "Pool Party" - and I knew from that moment that I had to track these dudes down. (I've since learned that the Bats lead singer is one of the masterminds behind the show, which listening to some of the fantastically weird lyrics on this album, kind of makes sense).

In a nut shell, if as me you are new to the Bats experience, then they mix some revival punk ska, with electronic sounds, a great sense of the absurd, and some genuinely funny lyrics to make an album that will have you smiling and laughing out loud. Tracks like "I Fell Asleep on my Arm" which is a raging rant about the horrors and frustrations of having a numb arm, in which he muses what he'll do if he needs to pee; to the Radiation Song about a mutated tap dancing boy, done to the music of an English tea dance, are just inspired.

If you've been thinking about buying an Aquabats album, then think no longer. Just do it. Now.
