5.0 out of 5 stars Tha Mystro Indeed.., 24 Feb 2004

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Music Mystro (Audio CD)
I first Mystro on the 'Food' CD from Low Life Records, and on the 'Louis Slipperz' mix-cds, and suffice to say I was well impressed!
His beats are (I think) largely handled by Braintax, and so, have the great depth that would be expected. (although im not sure if mystro himself does any production on this album.)
The lyrics are mostly comedic, and in the form of punchlines. Im not usually a fan of that style, but Mystro can reduce/exhalt the room into a fit of giggles time and time again, with his top notch barrage of unrelentless witicisms.
The delivery, rhythms and rhymes are very real, raw and gritty, with the exceptionally clever use of half rhymes and slightly jarring punchline rhymes accentuating the hilarity.
The only comparable act i can think of would be 'YunGun', but I think Mystro is a little better on account of his raw and unpolished voice. -

An amazing debut album from one of lowlife's up and coming stars- catch this now before it blows up big time an goes global!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great rapper, but if you're a fan don't bother, 15 July 2005
This review is from: Music Mystro (Audio CD)
So.... If you're a fan, you already have Music Mystro from the EP, ditto Nutrition and Awkward Thief (same EP). Yeah is a (finely done) remix of a joint that appeared on Slipperz years ago. Tellin You, again, already released, Strong Rhymin on the flip. Free The Walls and Don't Drag Me In from Wordlab 2 and BiroFunk respectively. My Type Of Party? If you haven't heard it already you don't know UKHH. Oh yeah and an intro and outro and 2 skits = 4 fillers. Don't get me wrong Mystro is a fine rapper. Hailing from West London, Mystro (AKA Mysdiggi, Diggz, Da Milk Man, Richie RuffRide, Alien Lung), is fast becoming a stalwart of the London and UK hip hop scene. Probably best known for his outstanding live performances Mystro has built a solid reputation for a funny, "in your face" style of rapping ranging from the outright deep to the outright freaky, and in doing so appealing to a wide range of audiences. Aswell as his own crews and working alongside solid UK talent such as Braintax and Skinnyman, Mystro's legendary "collabo's" have even crossed the Atlantic rapping alongsde, and frankly putting to shame vetern US rapper Main Flow on "Hip Hopulation". Flavour freestylin and flavour on wax, definitely one to watch out for........ That said, if you're a fan probably not much point buying this check out MK London Underground 2002 and Louis Slipperz 3 to hear Mystro at his best, if you're new to Mysdiggi then buy it NOW.
