4.0 out of 5 stars Steve mcQueen
In this 1958 movie Steve McQueen shows us what made him a Hollywood star. The film is based on actual events in St. Louis with many of the police officers playing roles in the film.

What I liked about this film despite it being a old film and in black and white its that its good heist film.It is impressive to observe how they prepare the bank heist - tming...

1.0 out of 5 stars Lousy visual/audio
Absolutely HORRIBLE quality of video and audio both. Real pity because a good film - can just say it is better than nothing - and glad it exists but really surprised they could put this product on the market (Elstree Hill Entertainment) - the film equivalent of making stamps by carving the image into a potato - and the audio transferred via stuffed pillows. 3 stars for...

What I liked about this film despite it being a old film and in black and white its that its good heist film.It is impressive to observe how they prepare the bank heist - tming the runs and checking for cops close to the bank.
Another thing is the film feels real and the plot doesn't go to extremes like some other films that we have today.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Must For Steve McQueen Fans, 28 April 2013

This is an early McQueen film, for an American piece of cinematography, "it is the pits." Poor production methods, infact ameteur is more the reality of this film. The acting is at best 2nd. to 3rd. rate. I will keep my copy only because I collect sets of films, either because of a particular actor/actress or as part of a series of episodes. This is the only McQueen film I don't actually like but, "one man's meat is another man's poison," so they say! The title says what the plot is, need I explain any more?

The great st louis bank robbery is awfull. The main star is steve mcqueen and he does a great job on acting in the movie but he didn't give his best performance compared to how well he's acted in his other movies that he has starred in.The base storyline is a group of men are trying to steal money from the St.Louis bank. The movie is in black and white.very annoying although it was made in 1958 so I didn't expect it to be in colour. Some scenes are quite fun to see but mostly the movie is very boring. There is very little entertainment from the film.Overall it's not worth wasting your money on buying it.
