4.0 out of 5 stars Toshiba P20-S203
This machine is excellent, I really don't have a bad word for it.
The only drawbacks are the bits missing, which seem to be a serial port and maybe firewire, although that is not necessary. The display is clear and sharp and offers a good view from wide angles, excellent for presentations.
The build quality is not bad, although I have to say I was worried about...

1.0 out of 5 stars Seriously disappointing
Don't buy one
On the specs and adverts, this seemed everything I wanted.
The Toshiba Satellite P20 arrived, and the wireless card didn't work
The machine was changed, and the wireless card didn't work on the replacement.
I spent days on the helpline to Toshiba from basic help, to advanced, to advanced technical at Weybridge.

They collected the machine (with my wireless router) got it working (so they said) and returned it.
Same fault. Wireless didn't work (or worked for a few minutes and then died)
Toshiba then washed their hands of it, claiming it was a software fault not covered by warrenty. Don't know how they know this as they don't know what the fault actually is.
Gultronics, the vendor, then refused to refund my money.
The thing has never worked, and it not fit for the purpose for which it is sold.
Now I will have to go to the trouble of taking them to the small claims court.
Moral. Avoid the Satellite P20. Avoid Toshiba. Avoid Gultronics.

The build quality is not bad, although I have to say I was worried about breaking some of the plastic finishing off. The keyboard deck is finished with a brushed aluminium cover that covers a sturdy rest for your hands as you type away. There is quite a thick border around the screen that could have been done away with to reduce the overall size of the unit. As for cooling I have never seen this level of cooling offered on a laptop before. There are massive vents and fans across the back, but it has to be said these are silent.
The sound system is by Harman/Kardon and although this is meant to offer high quality sound the amplifier seems a little weak. I believe this is because it does not have a Subwoofer like the 902 or 903 models.
If it's novelty value you crave then this machine takes the biscuit with its remote control and variety of buttons in various colours and designs.
The battery life is not so bad, having got 2.5 hours out of a single charge I was quite pleased. Considering the size and power of the machine 2.5 hours was excellent and a major plus.
If you have the money to spare and have muscles like Arnie I am sure you will love this machine. As for opportunities to upgrade it you may take the memory upto 2GB then adding a wireless card (mines in the post) and a Bluetooth you could have this fully loaded.
