I have been buying and trying exercise videos for years- and the only ones that work and don't bore me are Cindy Crawfords.

I particularly like The Next Challenge workout because it doesn't incorporate ridiculous dance/ aerobic steps that leave you leaping around the sitting room a confused mess! The no- nonsence moves are easy and you feel the muscles burn!

The weights section tones all of the upper body effectively and you could increase the weight as your muscles get stronger.

Elle Macpherson's dvd got sold-( too many dance steps) Nell Macandrews got sold ( tedious loud dance music and boring routines)

My only gripe with Cindy is her continual use of very low lunges which make my knee joints twinge. I usually do waist exercises with the weights when this section is on!

Two weeks of regular use brought me down a dress size and noticeably toned my arms and legs.

i bought this video nearly 10 years ago and i still use it regularly. Others have been discarded to the back of the cabinet but this one is so good. The cardio section consists of very simple yet effective exercises that need no co-ordination whatsoever! Unlike any other ex vid i have bought there is also a section using weights which i enjoy. i always feel like i've had a good workout afterwards and can feel it the next day. nothing bad to say about this video, buy it!

This is not your typical Jump about aerobic video, so if you are looking for that avoid it. If on the other hand you are like me and love using weights and toning your body then this is a brilliant buy.
If is VERY hard work though, and you will probably ache a little the next day, but it does work those body parts that the lady likes to tone up.

I usually do an aerobic dvd followed by this one, and I think that it is a perfect way to work out. This doesn't really burn up enough calories on it's own, (although that depends on what you want, I want to burn a lot of calories to keep my weight down as well as being toned) but added on to another cardiovascular workout it completes the workout perfectly.
You need some weights and a mat for the floor and a bottle or glass of water for this workout.
You begin by doing excercises to work your legs and bottom and they are very effective indeed. There are some unusual moves in there and the fact that you only do each one for the count of ten is perfect. I like the variety and shortness of each of the exercises. Cindy stops for water breaks throughout the programme and I think that is a very good idea. You can have a drink and march on the spot if you want to keep your heartrate going. You then go down to the mat and do your first set of abs work. While you are down there you complete your chest exercises with the weights and then carry on to the second set of abs exercises. (Breaking the abs up helps me complete them!)
Then its back to your feet for the weight section proper. This is a very enjoyable part of the workout and I find it strangely relaxing and a real pleasure, I think it's because I like the music in this section, although I must say that the music throughout the dvd is very good and better than most exercise dvd's. From here it's back down to the floor for the last part of the routine.
When it's all over you feel really good. Cindy is a nice presenter and doesn't make any annoying faces or comments, just gets on with it. I think that you probably need a degree of fitness to complete the exercises but as Cindy says if you can't do as many as her, aim for half of what she does and build up.
There is a section at the end of the dvd with the more difficult exercises explained fully with tips on how to do them safely which I thought was a nice touch.
The filming of the dvd and the settings are really very nice and better than the usual and coupled with the good music, not to mention the great routine, I find this an althogether very enjoyable dvd.

The next challenge is an excellent workout. She is not irritating at all (compare with Davina...) and the work is varied, not boring and it really works. Having had 2 children and put on 3 stones for each pregnancy, i have returned to size 10 within 6 months, having exercised 3 times a week (still allowing myself loads of chocolate). You can personalise your workout, skip or intensify a routine, adapt to your needs, it is well explained and you build up fairly quickly. Best workout including Shape Your Body and A New Dimension.

I have tried countless workout DVDs and videos but this is by far one of the top 3 along with her earlier video and the combined effort between Elle McPherson and Karen Voight.

This one, although longer in length, is a little slower paced and probably safer.

A great workout. Just wish I had more time to do it!

This workout vide kicks ass. It's very very hard but just like Cindy's other two videos this one really gets you sweating and working out. I have been working out ever since I was 14 and usually when I buy exercise videos they bore me or they are simply not hard enought but this one beats them all. Buy this one and you won't be disappointed. But you might have a lot of aching muscles.

Cindy Crawford: The Next Challenge Workout [1993]

I was overjoyed when I found this was available on DVD. It is my favourite workout video, no other workouts have quite met this standard and it appears to have stood the test of time.
Its a hard workout but well worth the effort. The scenery and music is outstanding throughout and Cindy doesn't bother you with mindless chatter. She simply tells you what you need to know to do the exercise.
The cardio/legs section at the start is hard work but fun and suggestions are made for slighty easier exercises. There is a lot of work on the abs and a great weight section for both chest and arms. You finish the workout feeling great and with the knowledge that you are getting a great body!
Although this would be a difficult workout for begginners it is not impossible and worth working at. Love it!

I used to train a lot in the gym, so my requirments are quite high but I must say that it is a great workout. Very professional and a great substitute for home training.
