This review is from: Never Too Late But Always Too Early (Audio CD)
This two disc set of an absolute killer concert is an essential purchase for Brotzmann fans and free jazz fans alike. It was one of those nights where everyone was on fire and playing like there's no tomorrow. With Hamid Drake on drums and William Parker on bass, the groove and pulse are always present. Fortunately, it was captured on tape and the sound is spectacular. A tremendous release by any measure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peter Brotzmann is as good as ever, 2 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Never Too Late But Always Too Early (Audio CD)
Outstanding outing for a free jazz trio of impeccable credentials.Peter Brotzmann is as good as ever,in fact elegiac,in some parts of this tribute to Peter Kowald (a tribute,in fact, before his passing). And with a rhythm section comprising William Parker and Hamid Drake, old compatriots, what can on e possibly say?Incredible. It could easily have been a duo performance with these two,and would've been a compulsory purchase. They create magic together, but as a threesome, this is just dynamite.
It's just a pity jazz is a minority musical interest, and free jazz a minority of a minority,as more people should hear such magic as is contained herein.I think I like it!
