Devil Driver, this is the side project of Dez Farara of Coal Chamber. I'm not really a huge Coal Chamber fan, and 'Giving the devil his due' didn't do alot for me, but I must admit, Dez has seriously made up for it with this one. I think Coal Chamber fans will love this too though, because this album has to be one of the biggest and best for the genre.
Devil Driver is black metal, but with a certain freshness to it. It's something new, that I can't quite put my finger on, Itis black metal at its best revamped, with a touch of death and grind. And I think, there may even be a few punk undertones. The lyrics are simply stunning, with my favourite songs being 'I Could Care less', 'Die (and die now)' and 'Nothings wrong?' I also just loooooooove the bass line and drumming! I can honestly say you won't be dissapointed with this purchase!

I first came across DevilDriver when i bought Coal Chambers latest album, it was advertising Dez Fafaras new band, so i gave them a look. There was an option on the web site to listen to the album, so i did and i cannot get enough of it. The angry riffs of "I Could Care Less" and "Die (And Die Now)" make you want to do everything with this album blasting. Definately a top album to abuse your ear drums with.
Devildriver are a faster, louder and more electrifying metal band then Coal Chamber, competing with the big runners this could be one of the best metal albums of the year.

Coal Chamber were such a great band and when Dez announced the end I was devastated. He spoke of a new band, but I never thought they could create music in the same league as the mighty Chamber. How wrong I was! This new band, DevilDriver, is just astonishing. This album is 12 songs of pure, brutal metal! The musicians are so much more mature in this band than in Coal Chamber and this shows in the songwriting, with tunes such as I Could Care Less and Die (And Die Now) leaving listeners wanting more. This album is a must have for all metal fans around the world!

From the opening track 'Theres nothing wrong?' you know your in for an aural treat!
DevilDriver are both heavy and intelligent.
Dez Fafara proves he's still got what it takes to be a head of his game with tracks such as 'Dies (die now)' which is pure black metal and 'I could care less' being a very technical track indeed.
basically if you Loved Coal Chamber, you'll Love DevilDriver!
even if you didn't like Coal Chamber, you'll enjoy this album.
a diffinate must have for any metaller!
go buy it!
you won't regret it!

Wow what a kick in the nuts. This is a great album from a great new band with the ex-frontman from coal chamber. This is heavy album which genre is hard to put in i could say black/death metal but like someone said if you want black metal/death listen to mayem or Akercocke or something, i could say it was nu-metal but Korn, Slipknot, coal chamber etc are nu-metal but it does sound like it has a few of their influences. The band has influences from the above and sound great for it. the vocals are heavier and deeper than which he sung with coal chamber and sounds like A mix between Wayne static (from static-x) and the chick from arch enemy (a werid mix but very good) there are also new musicsans with a blast beat drummer a plucking bass player two great guitarists who pull great riffs but no solos (come on guys if you can put solos in i know it may be heard to go with the music but solos are the best)some tracks sound like coal chamber (cry for me sky what does it take to be a man and revalation machine) this doesnt make the album any less but the album less great but makes it better as it shows that dez has not forgoten his roots and if it werent for coal chamber devildriver may not be here.
