5.0 out of 5 stars surprised you will be
After 2 average releases(in my humble opinion) Bobby Ingrams band confounded everyone and issued an album of Molly Hatchet cover versions, was it a sop to the original members who were now threatening legal action?,was it because he had run out of ideas? who knows but its a fantastic album.

This is not the real Molly Hatchet, but the Ingram led Cover's band. (Ingram brought the group's name!). Skip this rubbish and buy the original.

After 2 average releases(in my humble opinion) Bobby Ingrams band confounded everyone and issued an album of Molly Hatchet cover versions, was it a sop to the original members who were now threatening legal action?,was it because he had run out of ideas? who knows but its a fantastic album.

As was becoming the norm, new album, new line up,shawn beamer on drums, russ maxwell on guitar and new bass player jj strickland to compliment the ever present trio of ingram/galvin amd McCormack, that was now 3 bassists,3 drummers and 2 second guitarists in the last few years, talk about a revolving door policy,it was obvious who calls the shots.

All the classic Molly Hatchet tracks are her - gator country/Flirtin../Boogie no more etc,Jimmy Farrar era classics such as Bloody Reunion/Beaten The Odds, covers such as Dreams and album classics like the oft overlooked The Creeper plus a couple of new tracks. All beefed up with a heavier sound and superb production unlike the Locked n loaded live disc

I've said in previous reviews the name should not have continued however this is a fantastic release, the playing is out of this world,so i'll eat humble pie and concede that this is a worthy release,5 stars all round

Before you think not another Molly Hatchet greatest hits let me just say these few words, This band ROCKS!! ok they ain`t the original band no more but they play music true to the original bands work and in my opinion sometimes even better, they have gone in the studio to celebrate 25 years of Molly Hatchet, re recorded all the classic songs and came out with one storming cd highlights are too many every track on the cd is awesome but if i had to pick two they`d be Gator Country - simply the best version i`ve ever heard of the song bar none and also Boogie No More which for some reason they don`t seem to do too often live these days 6 1/2 mins of total boogie. Any fan of Molly Hatchet and Southern rock/boogie will absolutely love this cd.
Quite simply the band have breathed new life into classic songs, not too much messing with the originals but a big beefy production job makes this a killer - and yeh or should i say HELL YEH i love this cd!
