Like all the other Blues CDs by the Ace label that I have bought from Amazon this CD is yet another gem. The CD gets off to a firing start with Boyd Gilmore and the high standard never drops. There are many rare records included, which would cost a small fortune on old vinyl and previously unissued tracks from Modern Records cupboards. There are also fascinating sleeve notes on how some of the music was recorded, some songs were recorded when a huricane was nearby and racist authorities tried to prevent some of the recordings taking place (on the front cover there is a sign on the shack that reads "Colored Only - Police Order"). This a great Blues CD and I highly recommend looking further into Ace's catalogue, CDs like "Modern Downhome Blues Sessions - Memphis On Down Vol. 3" and "The Travelling Record Man".
