These films demonstrate that you don't need to spend millions of dollars to make a good movie. My personal favourite is the meaning of life - Some scenes don't work very well, and it's not really a film - just a series of funny sketches. But worth watching many times over. The every sperm is sacred song is a classic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Three Classics of Modern Times, 17 July 2004

For those of you who don't know of Monty Python, I'll give a short history of the show. Monty Python began in Britain in 1969 I think (please correct me if I'm wrong) as Monty Python's Flying Circus. One of the most outrageous and alternative sketch shows that hadn't been seen since the mad stylings of The Goons. Monty Python's Flying Circus was a bizarre combination of hilarious human sketches and random animations, such as, the now famous, giant foot (In fact I'd go so far as to say that without Monty Python, randomness wouldn't be such an important factor in comedy today). The cast made names for themselves on Monty Python- John Cleese, Eric Idle and Michael Palin are amoung the stars.
The Monty Python movies lost nothing from the original capers of the television series. Just as entertaining, interesting and yes- philosophical (philosophy was often the central pivot from which the cast drew ideas from, the sketches are not just laugh out loud funny, they are also often profound).
I cannot recommend this box-set enough. Many laughs will follow.

Well, what can I say? these are some of the best films ever made, so funny and rediculous! I enjoy some of the truely phylisophical points made in the movies, like: is having no arms or legs just a flesh wound? I don't know the answer,if it happen to me them I would know! Great, funny films.
