4.0 out of 5 stars very enjoyable game
We got this for xmas for our sons aged 9 and 10 and have really enjoyed playing it. Like any game it might seem daunting at first but a few referrals back to the rules and it all slots into place. It did'nt take too long to find a winner - in fact the game duration was very good and there are plenty of interactions with tomb raiding and trading etc. The 4/5 markings are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Difficult
the description sounded great but on opening, my daughter of 8 found the questions hard - to tell you the truth adults found it hard too. I guess once you've learned the answers, it becomes a memory game.

Like any game it might seem daunting at first but a few referrals back to the rules and it all slots into place. It did'nt take too long to find a winner - in fact the game duration was very good and there are plenty of interactions with tomb raiding and trading etc. The 4/5 markings are due to the questions cards which, whilst graded, seem rather obscure - I'd like some much easier questions for younger players. It was lovely to get a board game just that bit different and I would definately recommend it and buy it as a gift.

I bought this game for my children (7 and 10) somewhat hopefully as the descrition was hopeless. But I need not have worried as it is a really good game especially if you like all things Egypt. The idea is to become the Supreme Pharoh, and to do this you have to collect 6 Pharoh cards and entomb them in your pyramid. But there are challenges. You can barter your unwanted cards for someone elses, or possibly win a battle to gain cards from your opponents. The education bit comes from questions that you have to answer from time to time. They are all to do with Egypt, but the clever thing is that there are 3 levels of question, so they suit all ages. if you like board games then this is a good one to have. Not many children under 7 will be ready for this game. On the upward scale, if you have not lost them to PSPs and XBox, 14/15 year olds would still enjoy this game. Even the poor suffering parents will enjoy this game as there are opportunities to get back at whoever you feel you owe one to!

A good game, enjoyable and fun. While the questions are based on ancient Egypt so some idea of the history of the period helps, they are multiple choice some guessing is allowed and often works. It was played over Christmas by both adults and young'un's and all had a good time, if a little noisy. The sort of game one could go back to quite a few times but obviously there will come a point where all the questions have been asked and answered so proably not a long term game - trust that makes sense.
