4.0 out of 5 stars Tomb Raider - Cradle of Life Soundtrack
I have just bought this cd and have been quite impressed. The first time round on listening I didnt think it was anywhere near as good as the first soundtrack. It doesnt have the great mix of heavy and melodic pieces like the first, it is much heavier altogether. On the other hand, on second and third plays, it has much improved in my estimation. Not the cd to be playing...

Not the cd to be playing when having a quiet night in....MUCH better for listening to when getting ready to party! Would recommend to anyone who has a rebelious party streak hidden within!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good Tomb Raider soundtrack, 25 Aug. 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Tomb Raider 2: Cradle Of Life (Audio CD)
This soundtrack has more of a rockier edge to it than the first album and has all the quality without the big names. Moby features again with the up-tempo "Jam for the Ladies" but along with Sinead O'Connor is the only really well known act to feature.
Opening track "Heart go Faster" from the Davey Brothers (reminiscent of U2's "Elevation") sets a high standard which is generally met throughout. Alexandra Slate, The Dandy Warhols, Lunatic Calm, Sloth, Kasabian, and 3rd Strike all contribute great tracks to this album. Yeah, I hadn't heard of any of them either!
As with the soundtrack to the first Tomb Raider movie this is an album of artists you have probably never heard of (apart from the odd one or two) that you will not regret buying!
Oddly there is no sign of Korn's "Did my Time", one of the soundtrack singles, not that I'm complaining about it!
If you like a bit of soft rock, a bit of light drum and base, a smidgen of rap and a little dance - this is for you! Oh yeah - and there's one classical track from t e score of the film called "Pandora's Box" but don't worry, its conveniently placed on the end so its easily skipped!
Track listing:
1. Davey Brothers "Heart Go Faster"
2. Filter "The Only Way (Is The Wrong Way)"
3. Alexandra Slate "Bad Girl"
4. P.O.D. "Satellite" (Oakenfold Remix)
5. The Dandy Warhols "The Last High"
6. Saliva "Time"
7. Lunatic Calm "Leave You Far Behind"
8. Moby "Jam For The Ladies" (Jason Nevins Remix)
9. The Crystal Method "Starting Over"
10. Sloth "You Can't Look Away"
11. Nadirah "Nadz" Seid "I Hate This"
12. Kasabian "Reason Is Treason"
13. 3rd Strike "Into Hell Again"
14. Conjure Conjure One featuring Sinead O'Connor
"Tears From The Moon" (Carmen Rizzo Stateside West Chillout Mix)
15. David A. Stewart "Flight To Freedom"
16. Alan Silvestri "Pandora's Box"

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 30 Aug. 2004
This review is from: Tomb Raider 2: Cradle Of Life (Audio CD)
I am a great fan of soundtracks and I can be easily disappointed if they don't live up to their films. I had bought the original sountrack and loved the combination of music. Although I had heard the second fim was not particularly good, I bought the soundtrack anyway hoping it would be along the same theme as the first. It was and it wasn't. The choice of music was slightly different not as rocky as the first but still excellent. The music varies from rock, alternative and chilled. If you loved the first soundtrack you will love this one too even if you didn't like the film.
