5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, Funny, Funny, Funny, Barf, Funny.......
Some people have stated that this film is the Porky's for the nineties. I disagree, Porky's was unrealistic and daft. American pie, it has to be said, is one of those films which captures the moment precisely and is therefore extreemly funny. The script was written by someone who fully understands the sexual angst that teenagers go through in order to 'come of age'...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not THAT good
I'm not a prude -I laughed long and hard at South Park the Movie - but I really was bored to tears by American Pie. It's all been done before, perhaps not as slickly, but there was nothing in here I've not already seen in many other "coming of age" teen comedies. That being said, the acting is quite good but I really can't see what all the fuss is about. I...

Some people have stated that this film is the Porky's for the nineties. I disagree, Porky's was unrealistic and daft. American pie, it has to be said, is one of those films which captures the moment precisely and is therefore extreemly funny. The script was written by someone who fully understands the sexual angst that teenagers go through in order to 'come of age'. The whole apple pie scene definitly deserves to enter cinema myth and legend as one of those great funnies, which I'm sure will be copied to death, as will the 'Beer with added extras' scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars The first slice is the best, 10 July 2010

This review is from: American Pie (Ultimate Edition) [1999] [DVD] (DVD)
Alot of people may pass this one by on the hunch that its just another boob fest filled with toilet humor but this is not the case. The four main characters make a pact to all lose their virginitys by prom night and what follows is a mix of absolutly ridiculous situations and heart warming moments. There is such a wide variety of characters but they dont just fall into stereotypical catagories. Sean william scotts character steve stiffler is brilliant and always has me in stitches but i think that its worth watching for eugene levy alone, everytime hes in a scene he steals the spotlight. You wont regret watching this film, it may even leave you hungry for a second piece. They could not have chosen better people to play the parts. Sean William Scott is a legend for the role of stiffler and of course Jim, hes perfect for the role!! They need to stop making these new american pie films, beta house etc...because its ruining the first 3!!

American Pie is a brilliant, sexy film Something which will keep you laughing for a life time. A film to watch with people who like a laugh and defently not with v.high class people. This film you can watch to entertain your boyfriend or girlfriend. maybe for some people to learn a few things. But this is a five star film WATCH IT

5.0 out of 5 stars hilarious comedy, well worth the money, 24 Oct 2000
Very funny film, the best bit is the scene with the apple pie. Don't attempt to watch with your parents as they may not have the same sense of humour

5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest movie of all time, 26 April 2000
By A Customer
This movie is the funniest I've EVER seen. The comedy is VERY crude, though, and it makes the South Park movie look like it had no bad languange whatsoever. But this film is unbeatable. From hilarious moments involving an apple pie or a disguting yet hilarious scene involving a glass of beer someone had left lying around, it is absouletly excellent. Mind you, it'll put you off eating apple pie or drinking somebody else's drink for life, and you'll never look at a flute in the same way again. As for big names, there's no actors who are huge Hollywood stars, but the actress who plays Willow in Buffy The Vampire Slayer is here. An excellent teen comedy, you will never see anything that makes you laugh more than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll want to watch this again and again!!, 2 Aug 2004
This review is from: American Pie (Ultimate Edition) [1999] [DVD] (DVD)
This is one of the funniest films I've seen. Ever. It shows how teenagers really are, horny, desperate, confused and full of abusive language.
The way Alyson Hannigan portrays Michelle, the sexually active band geek is awsome. You'll be going to you friends "This One Time..."
This definatly holds some of the funniest character's you'll ever come across. Stifler is pure entertainment, Jim is generally amusing, Finch is just so werid and everyone else is so unique you'll be falling off your chair with laughter!!

4.0 out of 5 stars The King of Teen Comedies, 22 Aug 2002
By
This review is from: American Pie [DVD] [1999] (DVD)
A hilarious tale of high school friends on the ultimate quest to lose their virginity. American Pie succeeds not only because is it hilarious, but also because the portrayl of teenage urges is something that most people can relate to. The cast are all fantastic in their roles, a first for a teen movie. Jason Biggs and Sean William Scott are the most notable of the teenage roles, but the real highlight of the cast is Eugene Levy as Jim's outrageous father. A great film to watch alone or with friends, and good for repeated viewings. The sequel is also recommended for bigger and louder laughs, but it lacks the heart and charm of the original.
There are a few features on this DVD, the usual trailer, an interesting featurette, some out-takes and a commentary.
