For those of us who were lucky enough to see Brian Wilson perform his greatest achievement live, this is the perfect reminder of a great night. For those not as lucky it will give you the incentive you need to go and book tickets to his next show near you. Pet Sounds is a record that i thought wasn't designed for live performance, but this proves me wrong. The fantastic band featuring Darian Sahanja, Nicky Walsuko, Probyn Gregory and Mike D'Amico of the LA band, the Wondermints, along with some of the best studio hands around including Taylor Mills, Scott Bennett and ex touring Beach Boy Jeff Foskett, amongst others play and sing a note for note rendition of the whole album. Admittedly Brian's voice is not all it once was, but the band are so good, you barely notice. Highlights include opening track Wouldn't it be Nice, Sloop John B and I wasn't made for these times, with a stunning bonus of Good Vibrations. The record is timeless and this recording is a must for any Beach Boys fan. Buy this DVD and let it enrich your life!

In 2000, Brian Wilson surprisingly surfaced out of the carnage of what was the Beach Boys. The death of brother Carl Wilson ensured there would be no big re-union. 2 years later Brian amazed his even his own fans his deciding to perform the classic album 'Pet Sounds' live. The result is amazing. For an encore the band perform a stunning version of 'good vibrations'.

Some of the tracks are approached a little differently, but are so good you hardly notice the difference. The Wondermints and the Brian Wilson Band have merged to form one unit, that are still with him to this day.

Compiled from several sell-out live performances in 2003 of his brilliant PET SOUNDS album, this is BRIAN WILSON at his late-career best.

Fellow bandmembers, most notably the superb Wondermints, are also at the top of their game; both musically and vocally they're as tight as you could ever hope to wish for, short of actually seeing THE BEACH BOYS themselves, circa 1966. Okay, Wilson may be looking somewhat ravaged by the direction his particular rock and roll lifestyle took him, but his voice has survived in fine shape and the combined harmonies, present in almost every song, sound quite beautiful within the impressive surroundings of London's Royal Festival Hall.

There's a few disconcerting wardrobe changes to contend with (the result of editing together the best elements from different gigs) but highlights are many, especially:
WOULDN'T IT BE NICE
SLOOP JOHN B
GOD ONLY KNOWS
I JUST WASN'T MADE FOR THESE TIMES

And the final, electrifying, bonus of GOOD VIBRATIONS. I would have loved to have been there.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Cut down on words. It's simply a fantastic concert. A note by note deliverance of Pet Sounds, that leaves you stunned.

I was really looking forward to this dvd arriving as I just love all the songs on this album. However It would not play as it kept getting stuck and I had to return it.
