4.0 out of 5 stars Extreme obscurity, 18 Nov 2003
This review is from: Coldest Winter (Audio CD)
Unknown to many in the UK, Canadian noise niks Jude the obscure blend the discumbobulated and at times, schitzo screaming by lead singer James with the delicously spiteful guitar playing of Grant and chuck.
It's incredibly hard to know where you are after just two songs on this album, such is the intenisty and changing in tempo that Jude play around with. A particluar favourite is 'fingernails and lamp shades', A song that wastes no time in kicking your ears in with pulsating screaming and riffs so heavy that they could sink a P+O ferry.
Songs also to listen out for are the opener 'eyes bat lash' and 'stab'.
The only thing that slightly lets the album down is the sound level of James' voice which is at times drowned out by the guitar sound and drums. However, take nothing away, this is an intensely heavy album by a bright young band which have created an album full of imagination and intensity. A band to definately look out for in the future.
