A good sci-fi stategy game.

As with most games of this genre, you'll either love it and spend hours playing it, or you'll hate it and it'll never see the outside of its' box.
I loved it and spent many a long night building my vast empire.
The game revolves around you taking control of one of three races with a mission to colonise and control as much of the galaxy as you can. You start off with limited resources, i.e. one planet, a handful of tanks and ships and a wallet full of credits. You can use whatever means you see fit to conquer the galaxy, from espionage through diplomacy to all out warfare. The bigger your colonies get, the more research centres you can build to look into better warfare technologies, also the more spy centres you can build to recruit even more budding James Bonds!
This games covers many aspects of game play from colony construction to resource management, research techniques, spying, diplomacy, space battles and ground battles involving fleets of ships and tanks respectively.
As well as the "free play" conquering side of the game, the computer will also throw out the odd random mission for you. Destroy a pirate base, intercept an enemy transporter etc. And there is also a facility to play one of several pre-programmed scenarios.
I would recommend this game to anyone with a few evenings to spare.
