4.0 out of 5 stars Great action with an interesting plot
I was looking forward to this DVD after reading the summary because it was so interesting. It never failed me when it arrived.
New Gall Force follows Sandy Newman and her team of agents trying to destroy the machine faction MME. I was quite suprised by the way they layed out the scenes in the first episode because the it changed quite a lot and got confusing...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cool Sci-Fi Anime
The story is based after a war where Man was against Machine which let the Earth decimated after a nuclear exchange but theres some nukes left and it's up to the resistance to use these to their advantage to turn the tide and this is where the plot thickens.

The video quality is good but you only get the english dub which is ok but some voices are just badly...

That's the only fault I would say as the storyline keeps you gripped. The music is brilliant to, it is like the old Megadrive/Master System tunes that brings in the action to it.
It's very funny aswell with one of the agents doing "her" usual thing. There is also little twists in it that keeps you into it. The animation is very well done with the robots and the spaceships on Mars.
I would recommend this to any manga/anime fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baddie-blasting action from the creators of Dangaioh!, 28 April 2005
This review is from: New Gall Force - Vols. 1-3 [1990] [DVD] (DVD)
Mankind has almost won it's long-running war with the robotic monsters the MME.A ragtag band of command soldiers, led by the very un-Japanese sounding Sandy Newman, are searching in the wastelands of Australia for an abandoned nuclear reactor. The story progresses from there, and it really is a very interesting story of cyberoids, inner fears and hot women blasting things up(which looks much better than it sounds, trust me!).One of the best things is that the music is great, which is very unusual for an early 90s anime!I promise,if you buy this you'll really enjoy it!This series was so popular in Japan that it spawned a sequel.Buy it,you'll love it,end of story!!

The video quality is good but you only get the english dub which is ok but some voices are just badly done. The animation is great and the charactes are nicely done with some nods to other sci-fi films such as Aliens andthe music has that great 80's feeling, overall its a good dvd release but the dub donesn't do it justice. Also the other parts in the series haven't been released in the UK and they probably never will.

1.0 out of 5 stars robots, 3 Jan. 2004

This review is from: New Gall Force - Vols. 1-3 [1990] [DVD] (DVD)
It wasn't a particle new story line humans create A.I and robots take over the world, there is a nuclear war and most of the population retreat to mars.
Subsequently the population of mars want to get rid of the robots and to do this all they can think of doing is wiping out all traces of a nuclear waste land, over and over again. The human inhabitancy however stop them a number of times because they don't want their waste land destroyed, Freedom fighters against robots and the mars population.
My main annoyance with this film apart from it being predicable was the fight seen, just as they get to the action they abruptly end for no reason and it skips onto a whole new area, then when it comes back the fighting has stopped.
The animations is quite standard using the late 1980 slightly deformed manga style, the robots were quite nice.
The only merit being that all the commanders are women, which is different, commanding women, is funny in some aspects, but unexpected.
