German design certainly but made where?,well its not Germany
on 19 March 2014
A good solid design using the simplest engineering principles so it works properly, plain undecorated and purely functional but oddly attractive as well. One spare wire is supplied, not two as stated but hopefully this wire of of sufficiently high tensility to cope with most softer cheeses for a reasonable time.Assuming that the product materials are of the high quality one expects from most German branded designs i am hopeful of a long life for this cutter but I must admit to a degree of disappointment as to its place of origin,i expected a German made item.Update,8/9/14,unfortunately the wire I had expected to last at least a year decided to snap suddenly,my fears about this happening were correct after all,the wire is NOT of the same quality as it should be.Its has not been used to excess or used on hard cheeses,im rather disappointed with it now,so the star rating goes down to 2 in my opinion. Please check comments as A H Lees believes that the word tensility which he or she states doesn't exist, should be replaced by the word senility.Oddly the word tensility IS in quite common usage in engineering circles and is self explanatory to anyone with a modicum of education,it is certainly the correct word to use in the context I used it,his preferred word was meant to suggest that I,the reviewer was senile, hardly the response of a sensible critic.
