Mixed bag, not in quality, but in the range of song types ranging from funk to fusion to post-bop. Generally a very good album and well worth picking up for any fans of Lenny White (big name fusion drummer) in particular.
Unicorn Lady and Umma Be Me have a very Headhunters feel to them. Big electric bass lines, simple wahed guitar and playful keys over the top.
Derrick's Dance has a samba feel thrown in, while the rest of the tracks have a semi-fusion and sometimes reminiscent bop sound. All in all a great little 1973 offering which would fit nicely into any fusion fan's collection.
