4.0 out of 5 stars Mostly Excellent Instrumental Soul Interpretations All Previously Unreleased
They successfully made the tunes of most of these songs fit them like a hand made glove. As always, their organ/guitar dominated instrumental soul sound rolls along, or at least with most of these tracks. 1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BOTHER
If this had been the backing music for "Rowen and Martins Laugh In" with Goldie Hawn up front, I might put up with what is a very pedestrian set.

Stick to Green Onions. I have it on vinyl and it is as good as it was forty years ago.

They successfully made the tunes of most of these songs fit them like a hand made glove. As always, their organ/guitar dominated instrumental soul sound rolls along, or at least with most of these tracks. Their take of You Are My Sunshine does not sound like the original tune, but something by far superior. They could have credited themselves as the writers of this. But unfortunately, the tunes of songs like Downtown, Day Tripper, Every Beat Of My Heart, Ain't That Peculiar, You Can't Do That, I Hear A Symphony, You're So Fine, Gimme Some Lovin' and When Something Is Wrong With My Baby do sound very forced into their sound. But it is still an essential purchase, and as it is rather cheap, it is worth paying that money for the better tracks.
