It's easy to dismiss WrestleMania XIX from the list of great WrestleMania's. It didn't have the WrestleMania "moment" match that the preceding XVIII had (Rock Vs Hogan) and it didn't have the "anniversary" feel that the following XX had. Furthermore it did draw a disappointing buy-rate, despite packing out the Safeco Field in Seattle with over 54,000 fans (of which I was one).

And yet, whilst historically it is forever destined to live in the shadow's of other WrestleMania's of it's era, revisited today it is clear that WM XIX was indeed a very good show and arguably one of the best in WrestleMania history if one only concentrates on the quality of the matches.

Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar have a hugely entertaining WWE Championship match, proving to be ideally matched opponents for each other. Knowing in retrospect that Angle shouldn't have been anywhere near a wrestling ring in his condition only makes the match even more stunning second time around. Steve Austin and The Rock cap their WrestleMania trilogy with a hugely entertaining match (which proved to be Steve Austin's swansong) and whilst it can't possibly live up to their WM XVII classic, watching with the knowledge that, again, Steve Austin shouldn't have been anywhere near a wrestling ring can only add piquancy to the entertainment. Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon cook up a ridiculously entertaining streetfight (which even my non-wrestling fan dad, having watched it on video at home during my WrestleMania road-trip absence had to admit was one hell of spectacle) and the only one of the four "main event" matches that really lets the spectators down is the laborious Triple H Vs Booker T World Heavyweight Championship match. Logic dictated that this was the night, if ever, for Booker T to truly shine. HHH said otherwise.

None of these main events are even the match of the night though; that honour belongs to the stunning Shawn Michaels Vs Chris Jericho match. The Heartbreak Kid, easing his way back into a "full-time" schedule, proved once again that he is one of the best ever and Chris Jericho proved that whilst he may have his critics he's a great wrestler in circumstances like this.

Whilst the quality definitely drops off on the undercard, there's still entertainment to be found. The Cruiserweight Championship match between Matt Hardy & Rey Mysterio and the WWE Tag Team Championship match pitting Team Angle, Los Guerreros and Rhyno & Chris Benoit against each other may be criminally short for my liking, but they do offer up great entertainment. Similarly, whilst the prospect of a handicap match pitting The Undertaker against The Big Show & A-Train should fill any serious fan with dread, it's actually not at all bad, with `Taker certainly having his working boots on. And whilst the Triple Threat match for the Women's Title is the weak link of the card (not including, of course, the dire promo's and skits with the Miller Lite Cat-Fight Girls) it's a tidy enough match which certainly isn't offensive, even if one viewing of it is enough.

So you have three great matches (Austin/Rock, Michaels/Jericho & Angle/Lesnar), one great spectacle (Vince/Hogan) and a more than adequate undercard which means that in my book, WrestleMania XIX has to be at least a contender when you are discussing the greatest WrestleMania's of all-time. Whilst in the final analysis it might just lack that one big "moment" that would well and truly set it apart, watching this again on DVD proves to me that it's not just my attendance at the show that makes me biased about this event. It really is a great night of WWE action.

This is truly an amazing event. The Safeco Field was host to one of the most spectacular PPV Wrestlemanias of all time. This is worth buying mainly for the 20 years in the making street fight match between Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan. These two battled it out in an unforgettable match with a few surprises along the way. Perhaps the final encounter between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin was a must-see match aswell as Triple H defending his world title against Booker T. But the main event featuring Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle and Royal Rumble Winner Brock Lesnar made this championship bout an unbeliveable encounter. This is a must have PPV to purchase.

Ok people here it is Wrestlemania XIX. Some say the best Wrestlemania off all time. I personnaly think its one of the best. Here's the rundown >>>>
1st Match
WWE CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE
MATT HARDY vs REY MYSTERIO
Great opening match with Rey coming up with some neat moves. Too short of a match I felt, but all the credit goes to Rey amd Hardy for showing that cruiserwieght are still alive and kicking. 4/5
2nd Match
UNDERTAKER & NATHAN JONES vs BIG SHOW & A-TRAIN
Standard Undertaker match. Jones gets attacked earlier so it turns into Handicap match. Good perfomance by Undertaker. All in all not a bad match and Undertaker goes on increase his winning streak.3/5
3rd Match
WWE WOMEN'S TITLE
TRIPLE THREAT
VICTORIA vs JAZZ vs TRISH STRATUS
Very good match with women showing that they can come out with some awesome moves. Watch out for Jazz's Front Facebuster move!Loses abit of heat towards the end but still good with some comedic moment involving none other than Steven Richards. 3/5
4th Match
WWE TAG TEAM TITLES
TRIPLE THREAT
TEAM ANGLE vs LOS GUERREROS vs BENOIT & RHYNO
Good tag team action. Good performance by all 3 teams sees this match through. 3/5
5th Match
SHAWN 'HBK' MICHAELS vs Chris 'Y2J' JERICHO
The Match of the night!! Excllent moves and quality match that really told a story between the 2 rivals. Good finish to the match made this a classic. 5/5
6th Match
WORLD TITLE
HHH vs BOOKER T
Was it a classic or a letdown? Hard to say, but the match felt like every other average match. Not a Wrestlemania main event type of match I felt. 3/5
7th Match
STREET FIGHT - 20yrs IN MAKING
HULK HOGAN vs VINCE MCMAHON
Owner Vs the Puppet? Who created Wrestlemania? Who knows, but who would have thought that these 2 wrestling icons will fight at Wrestlemania? Not a bad match at all. Wasn't expecting much but got more than I thought. This match also sees big surprise appearance from none other than a certain Scotman. 4/5
8th Match
STEVE AUSTIN vs THE ROCK
Austin Vs Rock - Part 3 - The final match between these 2 great rivals. Saw the last 2 matches betweeb these 2 and they were great matches. And this 1? Well a good match but nothing to shout home about. Much better than HHH Vs Booker T match though. This was also the last match for 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. 3/5
9th Match
WWE TITLE
KURT ANGLE vs BROCK LESNAR
What a match! The 2nd best match of the night. Starts off slow but heats up towards the end. Good moves by Angle and Lesnar, with Lesnar attemting a surprise move that nearly costs him his neck! 5/5
OVERALL
It was a good Wrestlemania, one of the best i have seen. Does not rank with Wrestlemania 17 though which is the best 1 but this is certainly worth purchasing and adding it to your collection.

match 1 CRUISER WEIGHT TITLE
matt hardy w/ shannon moore vs. Rey Mysterio jr
typical cruiser weight match could of been better if that fat wanna be cruiser weight matt hardy wasn't involved so mysterio couldn't perform to full potential
match 2 TAG TEAM TITLES
Benoit Rhyno vs Los Guerros
team angle
BORING slow moving but funny when chavo gets a GORE GORE GORE
match 3 WWE WOMANS TITLE
Jazz vs Trish (mmmmmm)
victoria
excellent match one of the best womans title matches i've seen and it got better when steven richards smacked himself in the face with a chair (ASS CLOWN)
match 4 Y2J vs HBK
slow paced to begin with but these to are so alike and it was brilliant cause the kept stealing each others finishers as the match speeded up great stuff and a suprising ending
match 5 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
Booker T vs Triple H
good match lots of proper technical wrestling from triple h
and he didn't use a sledge hammer but he did get help from flair on more than one occasion and as you'd expect another lucky title defense by triple h
Match 6 20 years in the making street fight
Vince vs Hogan
this match is well and truly of the hook with loads of twists and turns and a surprise or three along the way I was with hogan all the way but what kind of a finisher is a leg drop?
but for to guy who are 50 some thing very very impressive.
match 7 Austin vs Rock
Will the rock make it third time lucky or will the rattle snake walk all over the rocks "pie eatin jabroni beatin not afraid to sweat not afriad to bleed gonna beat that bold headed ba5tard gauran damn teed. "
great match like Y2J and HBK but with JR and king bickering the whole way through great
match 8 Lesnar vs Kurt
Realy boring mat wrestling start but these guys are amatuer wrestling champs and gold medalists so what do you expect
realy good aggresive match towards the end though with angle giving lesnar a german into the turnbuckle and lesnar landing on his neck on a shooting star press (ASS CLOWN)
