It's difficult to know what to make of Asa Chang. This mini album continues very much in the same vein as his debut "Jun Ray Song Chang". There's lots of mellow bits (it starts off with a wonderful mix of Japanese flutes and sound effects from the first "Star Trek" series), and lots of strange processed vocals synched to the crazy beats of a tabla. There's also lots of descent into crazy noise overdrive, where everything get's thrown into the mix, which makes for a jarring experience. Overall, it's a highly experimental CD, good for weirding out friends and family. A unique sound.
