5.0 out of 5 stars Golden Years of Song - Cliff Adam Singers
Listening to the Cliff Adam Singers takes me back in time, they are easy on the ear, just shut your eyes and sing along - you'll feel refreshed - a real tonic

3.0 out of 5 stars Too many sad songs
Singing good but not enough too lift your spirits-quite depressing.
Was not able to find out the titles of the tracks on back of CD
(Common problem for me!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Cliff Adams and the Edwardian Parlour Songs, 3 Nov 2009

I think this is one of my favourite albums by the Cliff Adams singers. I prefer this to any other albums by them because the songs here are more suited to the traditional style of choral singing. I was incredibly disappointed with their cheesy rendition of Sinatra songs in other album. It seems that the arrangments are so outdated and the sound quality of the recording is also very poor. But this recording has far superior style of singing with sparse arrangments - most of them songs here are accompanied by only piano and voice. I fell in love with their rendition of these old-fashioned songs from the era that has gone by. This album comes next to my other favourite albums Songs my mother taught me (by the Cliff Adams Singers) and Songs my father taught me (by the baritone, Thomas Allen).

5.0 out of 5 stars In a 19th century drawing room, 26 Dec 2011
This review is from: Golden Years of Song (Audio CD)
While the idea of the Cliff Adams Singers is the height of squareness no such description applies to parlour ballads which always sound good to my ears
The Kashmiri Song (also known as Pale Hands I loved) is one of the Four Indian Love Lyrics and rarely turns up though it was recorded by both Peter Dawson and John McCormack
Good sleeve as well
