4.0 out of 5 stars The title sums it up
It's called "The very best of Dave Pearce Dance Anthems"- and that's what's on it. Floorfillers all the way through. Don't expect anything new or challenging, it's just two CDs worth of tunes. You can see from the tracklisting whether it's your thing or not. The tracks used are the versions played on the radio, so no drastic new remixes. Some of the tracks have been...

2.0 out of 5 stars Dave Pearce - the very best of dance anthems (2003 telstar)
Now seriously, Mr Pearce - what were you thinking???!!! starting a compilation is a complicated affair, one that takes more thought than throwing in such commercial criminals as Elvis vs JXL, Love Inc and Dj Sammy. The listener is taken back a few years to the 'real ibiza' of 1998 with the truly anthemic cafe del mar, followed by one of Maxi Jazz' finest hours - insomnia...

Some of the tracks have been played to death on the radio, but it's nice to see some of them again. One thing though- it's not mixed. Each track finishes before the next one starts, and a couple are edited for length.
I like it because it reminds me of the good old days before RnB took over my local club scene, when I spent more time on the dancefloor than waiting to pick up my coat. It only loses a star because I'd rather it was mixed. Overall, a good album full of dancefloor staples. Don't expect any surprises and you won't be disappointed.

Now seriously, Mr Pearce - what were you thinking???!!! starting a compilation is a complicated affair, one that takes more thought than throwing in such commercial criminals as Elvis vs JXL, Love Inc and Dj Sammy. The listener is taken back a few years to the 'real ibiza' of 1998 with the truly anthemic cafe del mar, followed by one of Maxi Jazz' finest hours - insomnia. track 7-10 on cd1, seem to be almost filler tracks, although enjoyable tunes nonetheless. the first cd really takes off around track 11, IIO, Delerium, PPK, Da Hool, Darude provide the real bangers on this compilation, before things are taken a little darker by paul masterson and the warp brothers.
cd 2 holds afew more classics by Chicane, Robert Miles, Kira, Push, Lange and Rank1. Although the second disc is let down in its own right with the likes of Milky, Robbie Rivera and Jinny, and yes, Jinny is a fantastically memorable 90's track, but does it really belong here? taking the place of such possibles as Jo Shivas 'dreams', Storms 'a time to burn' and A9-Ariel. And why do you people insist on wedging Ian Van Dahl into every compilation!!?? What a let down. 'Oy - Pearce, NOOO!!'

Dave Pearce has brought together an eclectic mix of dance classics from the 90s and the latest in scouse house. Great to see them together, but not for the hundredth time under a different record label and DJ. Aren't there any new dance/trance tracks around at the moment that make it onto any mainline labels, rather than just cream and godskitchen?
Great CD if you haven't already got the tracks on other CDs.

I got the wrong CD and was very dissapointed with the whole transaction. The CD that was advertised and The one that I should have received was "The very best of Dave Pearce anthems" a 2003 CD in a blue and black cover that was shown and is advertised on this sale.I actually got a CD called "Dave Pearce Classic Dance Anthems"..A totally different CD which was released in 2007, which is not the CD that I wanted, and was not the CD that I bought.
I am not happy at all with this transaction. I partuclarly wanted the CD album as described above in the blue and black cover as I wanted selected tracks that were only available on this particular CD.
Not a very happy customer.
