the sounds of the underground is an absolutely excellent song, to be honest i wasnt expecting it, i mean lets face it they are off popstars the rivals!!! but i was superbly suprised as it is a cool song, a mix of sugababes, the beat goes on, pulp fiction and many more!! also stay another day is just a classic, tho the original has the edge on this version but still really good. and please buy it just so the awful "one true voice" dotn get no 1!!!!

This song is 'Girls Aloud' the Popstars The Rivals group with an excellent song, it has a hard hitting urban vibe and the group and totally different to any other! Many will by pass this record because of the relationship it has with Popstars, but this is a suprisingly amazing song and worth a good listening to.
It also has a OK remix as well which is impressive if your into club music rather than, pop-urban!

Coming from a pop reality show always brings questions forward to the credibility of the final groups. However, with the songwriter behind Cher's "I Believe", and Sugababes "Round, Round", Girls Aloud have come out with a track that most definitely wasn't expected. If you like guitar/electro/pop, and are up for a bit of Popstars voting, then buy this track. Puts the other one to shame!

If only all talent show winners had songs as ultimately good as Sound Of The Underground. I'm a massive Girls Aloud fan and everytime i listen to this song i just think 'simply amazing'. Twanging surf guitar over a drum n' bass beat and touches of electronica this is pop music at its most innovative, something the Girls would continue to push throughout their stunning musical career. Sexy vocals and a hot video are the icing on the cake to a tune that marked the start of it all for what is truly the greatest girl band of all time.

The Brian Higgins remix is great too, amping up the drum and bass vibe of the song even more as atmospheric synths glide over the beats. A really good version, make sure you listen to the Flip & Fill mix on the other CD too.

The b-side, a cover of East 17's classic - Stay Another Day, is well worth checking out. Updating the song with impressive modern production qualities, Cheryl takes the majority of the vocals and does an admirable job. The song is just as intensely moving as the original and you can quite easily come close to tears listening to the song. Beautiful.

Track Listing:

1. Sound Of The Underground
2. Stay Another Day
3. Sound Of The Underground (Brian Higgins Mix)

I think this song by Girls aloud is by far the best song by any of the popstars programmes. They are very talented and much better by the boys. There is a something different to this than the other singles. It's not just pop it's kinda garage and a mix of everything really. I think the girls will go mucher further than any1 else because they have a good sound to there music. I suggest u buy this single cos this will make no.1 not the boys!!!!!!!

Just the best song to have come out of any of the reality TV shows this year. What a bass! An absolutely top tune that you just can't get out of your head. Brilliant!

The first single from the Popstars is this cool, fierce, energetic, explosive, catchy dance track! The lyrics are good, and the girls voices have mixed well together. Their B-side song, Stay Another Day, however is quite dull and depressing.. A poor effort, though Sound of the Underground is very outstanding and deserves its success! Well done girls!

Superb song and excellent video. Now my all time favourite Christmas number 1 which the group richly deserved. Sexy Sarah in her gorgeous outfit pink skirt, black leather halter-neck top and very sexy black leather boots I am so turned on. Well done, a kiss to all 5 girls xxxxx

Who cares if they're a TV-created group? Who cares how relatively talented they "really" are? This is great pop! It is so refereshing to here heavier guitars used on a piece of pop like this. The mix of dance-influenced rhythms and the guitar chorus is great. I even like the lyrics. And the middle eight is strangely charming.
An excellent first release from the girls. They've beaten the Sugar Babes at their own game with this! Catchy! Catchy! Catchy!

yet more tripe from those buisnessmen who decided that it might be a good idea to write a song about the sounds of the underground; whilst getting a faceless, souless pop group to front this single. the song itself is boring, fastidious and most of all, ironic. this is pure aural torture, having to listen to this song is the sonic equivalent of having boiling wax dripped into your ears, but then again it is a worth while thing to happen, just so you do not get to hear this atrocity of a song being played. the sound of the underground; naah. the sound of faeces hitting the floor from a sky scraper; no. listening to poo being dropped on the floor is rather pleasurable compared to listening to this.
