This is a great movie pure and simple with alot more action, alot more mutants and it continues the story of Mutants vs Humans and the struggle for survival.
The old classic characters are still here with Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) who does another excellent performance, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) who IMO is an absolute legend.
I'm not going to say much more about the movie except you need to see it because you will just love it as it stays true to the comics.

The sequel builds on many of the strengths of the original- the quality of acting and the care which is taken to develop the characterisation. It starts with a strong opening sequence, an attack on the Oval Office, carefully choreographed and then a sequence in a museum in which the young mutants' field-trip is interrupted by discrimination. Carefully and economically, the film establishes the scenario of distrust and repression in which the themes of the film are to develop.

The first hour is excellent and the quality of the dialogue matches the original however as the film begins to develop and move towards its finale, it becomes slightly less rewarding- perhaps because the compex web of relationships that bind the characters together does not feel as intimate as the first film but also because Brian Cox's General Strker lacks the intellectual menace of Ian McKellen's Magneto.

It is an enjoyable film but in my opinion it is just a bit too long.

If you liked the original then you are going to love this movie as it's bigger and better and it feels like a proper movie (the original was little more then an intro) and what's the coolest thing about his movie? Wolverine finally goes berserk as he takes out half a special unit team who attack the mansion on his own. How cool is this.

The film is big and concentrates on Wolverine's past so we finally get to see a little bit more about where he came from and how he became who he is.

The effects and action sequences are also spectacular and it contains one of the best intros I've ever seen as the White House is attacked.

The downside to the film is that some characters seem to fall by the wayside (Cyclops doesn't seem to have a part), but apart from that, this film is brilliant and you should definitely go and watch it!

I remember watching the first X Men film and thinking how fantastic it was - great characters, smart effects, and not too 'over done'. I first watched this sequel a few years back, and have been watching it over and over again since! Its rare we come across a sequel these days that can better its predecessor, but this one does, and what a film it is. The acting is superb, the storyline unfolds neatly, and it doesn't over-complicate the whole saga.

If you loved the first film, this is simply a must!

Better then the first. Has tons more action and better mutants. There are some truly spectacular action scenes in this movie. Only thing it lacks is that it cant seems to find enough time to fit in all the mutants (i.e, Storm, Cyclops).

This is the best. Wolverine is the action hero equivalent of Darcey. I love this film - magneto is so clever! Only one thing in the storyline saddens me - but I won't say what as it'd give stuff away and I think everyone should watch it without knowing what will happen. Excellent
