If you compare Eminem's "Lose Yourself" to its catchiest peers in the top 10, they are just as catchy, perhaps even a bit more so. But if you look at how many listens its takes to get bored of "Lose Yourself", it really starts to stand out. I am still not bored of this single and I've heard it loads of times.
Eminem has written and performed both the rap and the singing part of this track. It is a semi-autobiographical piece about trying to make it as a performing rapper. But it speaks for all frustrated "artists" who are trying to use their creativity to make something better for themselves.
Eminem is clearly a man with a lot of anger inside of him, and at times this can be unattractive (though I know for many of his younger disillusioned fans it adds to his attraction). However this track shows he also continues to have a very good lyric writing talent, and an excellent sense of vocal rhythm, plus a pretty good ability to write melodies/harmonies. The chugging guitars etc in the background show his arrangement skills as well.
Overall, despite my misgivings about his negativity, Eminem has produced a good single which stands above many of those of his peers in the UK charts.

Eminem's `lose yourself' was released in 2002.It was his first single after `Cleaning out my closet'. The song is also the principal soundtrack of `8 miles' the film inspired in Eminem's life. Eminem is known by giving the audience 100 percent in each concert and I personally considered that this sing is the culmination of his entire career. His masterful performance on the film was highly acclaimed by all the audience all over the world. The legend of Eminem was there growing and growing we have to remember that after this single he had a few bad years with the death of his best friend and many problems with drugs. This song is one of the last of Eminem's old style now he is more commercial and his lyrics have changed. Since I was just a kid that sing has changed my way to see the life, there's thousands of good sings that I have liked but this one is different. When you hear it you really think that Eminem is talking about you. His electric style with a poignant final track make you feel different kind of powerful like if you could do everything you want in that moment. He talks about Rabbit the principal character of the film each person has a `rabbit 'inside him that's the key of Eminem's succeed. The atmosphere changes in his recitals, he is the king of self motivation. I really recommend buying or listening to this single especially before to do a important thing like playing a match or doing an exam- it always works.

Lose yourself is one of Eminem's best songs! It actually lead him to win an Oscar in 2003, the Oscar Award for Music (movie soundtrack). This song was written by Eminem especially for his upcoming great movie, titled "8 Mile", which is actually the autobiography of the famous white rapper.
Inside this cd single you will find the following three songs, one lose yourself video, plus a bonus video:
1) Lose yourself
2) Lose yourself (instrumental)
3) Renegade (with Jay-z)
4) Lose yourself (the music video)
5) 8 mile movie trailer
If you have seen the movie, you will find that this song fits just great, as it talks exactly about what happens in there.
"Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity
to seize everything you ever wanted - one moment
would you capture it or just let it slip?"
Great single, you can listen to it again and again without getting bored. Deserves five stars, no hesitation.
