This is a very special collection of classic Doctor Who and the Daleks from the big screen.
These movies must have been fantastic to be seen on the big screen in colour as at that time the tv series was in black and white, So imagine seeing the daleks in colour for the first time.
Peter Cushing cast as the Doctor was for these movies a little different as in the tv series the Doctor was a Time Lord and an alien, But the role of the Doctor in the movies was a kindly grand farther who had invented the Tardis ( It is explained in the Dalekmania documentary this was to keep it simple and make it easier for the script because at that time the tv series was not broadcast all around the world ). One point in my opinion which lets the movies down is the absence of the Doctor Who theme tune and the noise of the Tardis, But The Daleks will not disappoint you as they are really colourful and look fantastic and of course they "Exterminate" all the time and are just as bad and evil as ever .
After the first movie was a hit a second movie was commissioned , Invasion Earth 2150 AD , Just as good and it was a shame more did not follow . The Dalekmania is facinating and a pleasure to watch and gives you plenty of information about the movies . You also get the film trailers and the film cells in this very special box set, If you are a fan of Doctor Who and enjoy watching the Daleks being ruthless then this collection is for you ( Wether you choose to watch it from behind the sofa or sitting in front of the tv, This is collection will not disappoint you )

DR. WHO - The Motion Pictures (Gold Edition) 1965
Certainly, both 1960's Dr. Who and the Daleks feature films could be purchased on DVD format for much less, but with this 'deluxe' product, presentation and packaging are everything. From a serious collector's perspective it must surely represent a worthwhile investment given its limited (5,000 boxes) production run. The inclusive reproduced film advertising material and art graphic slides are all of high quality manufacture and certainly offers good value in a comprehensively nostalgic re-package and will in time, I am sure, become another highly prized and sought after Dr. Who/Dalek collectable.
