5.0 out of 5 stars Techno-Electro Edgy Bond theme
Brand new Madonna single "Die Another Day" is the most edgy and catchy song of Madonna since "Impressive Instant" . Two versions of european single are really great portion of good techno music . Take Daft Punk , Air , Mirwais and Madonna in the early '80s (Holiday, Borderline) , mix it with catchy strings and vocoder-voice ... and analyze this, this, this.....

3.0 out of 5 stars Great song but drags on a little
This Maxi CD is a great CD to own as a madonna or bond fan. The song is very catchy and is one of madonna's most interesting and best tune for a few years. The remixes are not bad, but a couple seem to go on for a long time but overall a great CD to listen to when you feel like partying or get boogeying!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Avoiding the cliche yet again..., 27 Oct. 2002
This review is from: Die Another Day [CD 1] (Audio CD)
This song is amazing. The reviews have been mainly good but it has come under flack for it's simplistic lyrics and vocodered sound. Well what's all the complaining about? Listen to the lyrics! Listen to what she's saying, it's possibly one of her most deceptively meaningful songs in years! She's gonna avoid the cliche, she's shaking up the system... it's a kickstart for James Bond that the series has needed for years. Who better to do so than the undisputed Queen of Pop? As for the vocoder, she proved with the Drowned World Tour that she could sing, she doesn't have to try and be Whitney Houston. It's mechanical, it's cold and it totally suits the theme of James Bond so stop complaining! Sigmund Freud would have a hard job of analysing Madonna.

5.0 out of 5 stars move over shirley(s), 29 Oct. 2002
This review is from: Die Another Day [CD 1] (Audio CD)
In which Mrs Ritchie takes on the history of bond themes and does something completely different... and comes up with the goods. Bond themes have always been full of ridiculous lyrics so a bit of freud referencing hardly comes as a surprise. What Madonna has achieved here is to bring the classic strings + angst + drama bond formula into the 21st century with a dollop of humour (check out the vid) and a sheen of glamour. OK, the vocoder may distract from more than it adds to the song but theres a fundamentally good tune here that is going down a storm in the clubs. Now, bring on the opening credits sequence...

5.0 out of 5 stars Woohoo!, 23 Nov. 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Die Another Day (Audio CD)
At last the material girl has "done" a bond theme.
Madonna the queen of pop has finally got the same acheivement that only a handful of the best artists in this business can put their name to. MAdonna has reached the same ranking as Shirley Bassey, Sir Paul Mcartney and Tina Turner, and she has done it with the utmost style and modernity of the 21st Century which the jazzy new Bond, "Die Another Day", deserves.
The tune is pulse thumping and different to past bond classics, it hasn't got the same feel or respect as Goldfinger by Shirl, but with Madonna's name attached to it it's only a matter of time before this also reaches a status that a piece of music attached to James Bond deserves.
This tune will be in your head for hours with you humming along to it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Name's Bond, James Bond, 26 Nov. 2002

I like it. I don't know why, but it's not the same slow, cliched music Bond is accustomed to, and it feels really vibrant and alive. Plus, when in the context of the film it really works.
Well done Madge!

5.0 out of 5 stars A showdown of 2 titans!, 28 Oct. 2002
This review is from: Die Another Day [CD 1] (Audio CD)
Madonna really has got her finger on the pulse. She has not just made a great Bond tune but she has also managed to bring it kicking and screaming bang up to date. Forget all the rubbish people are saying about 'why is she using that vocodor thingy??' and 'it doesn't compete with Shirley Bassey!!'. She has made a modern, atmospheric, funky record that will fit the ever changing face of James Bond.

When I first heard this song on the radio, I had mixed feelings about it as a Bond theme. However, since seeing the movie - I was blown away with this as the title track. I think you need to give this track a chance to grow on you - and when you do, you will be pleasantly rewarded. Superb blend of modern and classic music styles.

5.0 out of 5 stars The amazon tracklisting is NOT totally right!, 16 Jan. 2005
This is a 2XCD vinyl record of Madonna's #3 hit 'Die Another Day.' (16 weeks) It includes 4 sides, with 2 on each disc and includes remixes by Dirty Vegas, Deepsky, Thunderpuss & Felix Da Housecat (Thee RetroLectro). These are high-quality remixes! Soundtrack and Film out now too, as well as Madonna's #1 album 'American Life'. (19 weeks) Disc 1 includes the mixes by Dirty Vegas & Thunderpuss, aswell as the original radio version. Disc 2 includes remixes by Felix Da Housecat (Thee RetroLectro) & Deepsky, aswell as the dub remix by Dirty Vegas! There are NO, I'll repeat, NO mixes by Brother Brown on here. If you're looking for THAT mix buy US/12" CD or Japan EP. Both tracklistings are exactly the same & US CD is a lot cheaper!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Die another day, 1 Nov. 2002
This review is from: Die Another Day [CD 1] (Audio CD)
I really like this song but I had to listen to it a few times first. I'll probably buy the single but I don't think it's the best Maddona song ever. Some people seem to really love it and some hate it and I think maybe all the techno computer stuff is a bit out but I like it anyway. Its so much better than the last James Bond theme which I can hardly even remember.
